Third place Circus Jeff Morehead, Peru Tribune Comments: Composition makes this photo work very well. Shapes and colors all draw you in. Best Multiple Picture Group/Category 20 Queen Abby Seifert reacts along with members of her court back row from left to right, Kaylyn Kelly, Courtney Heller and Natalie Berea to Evan Arthur, 8, as he pops a wheelie at the end of his attempt during the pedal pull competition at the Hancock County 4-H Fair. First place Gilles family recovery Christopher Fryer, The News & Tribune (Jeffersonville) Comments: Story and skill combine for a great set of photographs that tell a compelling story. Second place Semi-state Thomas J. Russo, Daily Reporter (Greenfield) Comments: This story had a strong narrative. Third place Tornadoes Christopher Fryer, The News & Tribune (Jeffersonville) Comments: This is a compelling story that could use more development. Best Picture Story with Audio or Video Story/ Category 21 First place Civil War re-enactment Craig Mauger, The Courier-Times (New Castle) Comments: The photos in this video were excellent and gave a nice variety of what was going on at the re-enactment. The sounds of the background flowed well and made it interesting to watch. Nice job. Trish Gilles comforts her son, Caleb, who wrapped himself in their prayer shawl after he saw a warning about severe weather at Trishs mothers home in Sellersburg. The family is staying in Sellersburg while their Henryville home is rebuilt after it was destroyed during the March 2 tornadoes. Second place Storm-torn area Evan Shields & Ken Ritchie, The Madison Courier Comments: Talk about being in the right place at the right time. The video was long but had good firsthand coverage of the tornado. And the interview with the bus driver was great. Great job on the breaking-news coverage. Third place Froggy flinch Marda Johnson, The Lebanon Reporter Comments: Loved the girl with the non-jumping frog in this video. While the background noise could have been improved a bit, I really liked how the story of the activities all was told but yet this poor girl and her frog were highlighted as well. Nice editing job.
