Division 1 Best Editorial Page/Category 22 First place Robert Banser, The News & Sun (Dunkirk) Comments: Two good staff columnists and a couple of good local editorials carry the day for The News & Sun. Second place Staff, Ferdinand News Comments: This entry finished second only because it was unable to fill one of its pages with commentary. Kathy Tretter had a couple of powerful, local editorials very talented opinion writer. One suggestion: Move staff commentary to the top of the page. Third Place Kyle Lewis & Scott Slade, The Times-Post (Pendleton) Comments: Good staff-written columns, but wish they had more to say about public affairs (i.e. government). Love the nice, clean layout. Best Sports Section/Category 23 First place Kyle Lewis & Lori Wood, The Times-Post (Pendleton) Comments: A clear, crisp, exciting winner. Second place Staff, The Loogootee Tribune Comments: Well-done. Third place Brian Bohne & Megan Schipp, Ferdinand News Comments: Good content and use of photos. Best Feature Section or Page(s)/ Category 24 First place Features Kyle Lewis, The Times-Post (Pendleton) Comments: None given. Second place Food + Drink Kyle Lewis, The Times-Post (Pendleton). Comments: None given. Third place Wellness Staff, Hendricks County Flyer (Avon) Comments: None given. Best Business Section or Page(s)/ Category 25 First place Business Kyle Lewis & Amanda Matlock, The Times-Post (Pendleton) Comments: Highlighted business on the page immediately draws you into the article because of the clean, crisp design and short, bold headlines. Photos show who and what in a glance, and quality of the pictures really adds to the draw. Opening paragraph written to spark interest in the business. Other business stories on the page consequently standout because major story is so well-highlighted. Great use of negative space. Second place Business Staff, Hendricks County Flyer (Avon) Comments: Good locally written stories on area businesses. Coverage of other business happenings adds interest. Third place Business Bryan Helvie, Debbie Blank & Diane Raver, The Herald-Tribune (Batesville) Comments: Good coverage of local business community. Page 20
