Draws reader into the stories. Second place 2011 Indiana law enforcement clandestine lab incidents; U.S. Hwy. 41 closing 6 medians Melissa Weisman & Eric Gogel, South Gibson Star-Times (Fort Branch) Comments: Graphics are a good contribution to the stories. Best Community Service/Category 29 First place Right side of the tracks Amanda Matlock, The Times-Post (Pendleton) Comments: Wow, what an amazing series of articles coming out of tragedy. These were very well-written and researched in a solid and thorough fashion. Amanda���s account of the incidents leading up to this series was very compelling. Great job; be proud of your work. Second place Curbing teen drug and alcohol use in the community Debbie Blank, Bryan Helvie & Diane Raver, The Herald-Tribune (Batesville) Comments: This was an amazing and heartbreaking entry. Lots and lots of work went into covering a community response to the tragedy of drug abuse. I would love to read to follow-up coverage. Third place Super Build deemed a success Staff, Hendricks County Flyer (Avon) Comments: I just love this very hands-on idea of a newspaper staff helping to build a Habitat for Humanity house. It���s a great cause, and it gives readers the chance to see a newsroom in action in a very different way. As a member of the Twin Cities (Minnesota) first all-women Habitat crew, I thought this entry was special. Best Newspaper Design/ Category 30 First place Kyle Lewis, The Times-Post (Pendleton) Comments: Great-looking paper from front to back. Excellent use of white space. Very impressive. Second place Staff, Hendricks County Flyer (Avon) Comments: Great use of lines. Good, clean layout. Third place Bryan Helvie, The Herald-Tribune (Batesville) Comments: Good layout.
