OCTOBER 8-11 Winslow G.B. Church 600 E. Union Street, Winslow • 812-789-2469 Revival Guest Evangelist Rev. Cliff Clark Sunday Morning 10:30am Sunday Evening 6:30pm Mon.-Wed. 6:30pm Couple arrested on drug charges, warrant By Andy Heuring A Washington man and a Winslow wom- an were arrested after her father called po- lice to remove a man from his residence. Jennifer Ann Blunt, 34, aka Jennifer Tharp was arrested on a charge of posses- sion of a controlled substance, and Jacob Wyatt, 38, of Washington, was arrested on a warrant from Bloomington last Tuesday evening. Pike County Deputy Paul Collier arrest- ed both of them after Blunt's father, Edward Petry, of rural Winslow, called police com- plaining a man, whom he didn't know, was living in his residence. Collier said Petry told him his daughter had been staying there in an upstairs bed- room for about three weeks and a man he didn't know had started staying with her about two weeks ago. Deputy Collier agreed to talk to them. He said he went to the bedroom, knocked on the door, and both Blunt and Wyatt were in the bedroom smoking, which Petry had told them was not allowed in the house. Deputy Collier said while talking to Blunt he noticed slurred speech and droopy eyes. While running a check on both of them, he found Wyatt was wanted on a warrant out of Bloomington. A search of the room found a white powder. Collier said it tested negative for meth, but Blunt told him it was a ground up Lort- ab, for which she did not have a prescription. Both Blunt and Wyatt were taken into custody. Hammock arrested for OVWI after traffic stop By Andy Heuring A Petersburg man was arrested after po- lice stopped him early Saturday afternoon. Jason E. Hammock, 42, of 2014 S. 15th St., Petersburg, was arrested by Pike Coun- ty Sheriff's Sgt. Dallas Killian. Sgt. Killian said he noticed Hammock at the intersection of CR 50 E. and CR 475 S. (Number Seven Road), which is a four-way stop. Sgt. Killian said Hammock refused to go despite Killian motioning repeatedly for him to go. Killian said eventually he went through the intersection, and then watched Ham- mock go through the intersection and im- mediately turn into a driveway. Sgt. Killian said eventually he noticed Hammock back out of the driveway, then at an intersection, went wide while making a turn and then corrected into his lane. Killian stopped Hammock and noticed the odor of alcohol while talking to him, as well as a case of beer in the backseat. Ham- mock said he had two beers. While talking with Hammock, a blue ve- hicle pulled up behind Sgt. Killian. The driv- er approached him and said Hammock had pulled into his parents' driveway and parked behind their barn just moments before. Hammock failed field sobriety tests and tested three times the legal limit on a por- table breath test. Sgt. Killian said Hammock was given the chemical test at the Pike County Jail, where he failed to provide an adequate sam- ple. Hammock then refused to take the test again. He was charged with operating a ve- hicle while intoxicated with a prior in the last five years.
