It start- ed on October 1 and will run through January 15. In Pike County, there will be an enrollment event on Sunday, Oc- tober 15 at the 4-H Building in Horna- dy Park from 2 to 5 p.m. Extension Educator Sarah Hopkins said the event will be a chance for kids ages K to 12th grade to find out about 4-H and enroll. She said there will be some typical crafts and activities they would experience at a 4-H meeting. There are currently 12 4-H Clubs in Pike County. Some are specific clubs called project clubs, like the horse and shooting sports clubs. Other are com- munity clubs that have a more general focus. There are more than 70 different project areas for 4-Hers to participate. They also have Mini-4-H Clubs for kids in grades K to second grade. While they do projects, they don't com- pete for ribbons at the county 4-H Fair. Enrollment in a mini-club is $5. Traditional 4-H membership starts in grade three and runs through a stu- dent's senior year. Enrollment is $20 for the traditional 4-H. Anyone interested in 4-H can con- tact the Extension Service at 812-354- 6838. STOP it takes 3 MINUTES to subscribe to 812-354-8500
