Meagan L. Morton CDA, EFDA, OMSA wins award Meagan L. Morton, a den- tal assistant at the Oral Sur- gery Group, has been named as the recipient of the 2017 ADA A New Member In- volvement Award. Ms. Mor- ton is a resident of Evans- ville. The ADA A New Member Involvement Award is pre- sented to an ADA A mem- ber who has shown the most outstanding achievement in promoting the objectives of the association and further- ing the profession of dental assisting. Ms. Morton, formerly of Winslow, earned her degree at University of Southern In- diana and then she moved to Evansville, where she currently resides. She has worked at the Oral Surgery Group for three years now. Meagan is a 2011 grad- uate of Pike Central High School and a 2014 graduate of University of Southern Indiana. Her parents are John and DeeAnna Morton, of Pike County. Her broth- er is Jacob Morton, of Pike County. Her mother, DeeAn- na, is one of the biggest rea- sons she decided to get in- to the medical field to begin with. She has helped Mea- gan to stay inspired and proud of her work. Meagan is a Christian and knows that God has been her in- spiration through it all. She knows that without him and his strength she would not be in the place that she is to- day. She gives all her glory to God. Meagan is currently presi- dent of the Evansville Dental Assistants Society and pres- ident of the Indiana Dental Assistants Society. In the past she was vice-president and has helped to coordinate the Evansville Dental Assis- tants Society annual Christ- mas auction. She is also the recipient of the 2017 Anna Marie Dixon New Member award. In February of 2018 she will be traveling up to Chicago to help teach a CE course at the Chicago Den- tal Society Midwinter Meet- ing. She is also a member of the ADA A membership committee.
