Also placing for the La- dy Chargers were eighth grader Laney Johnson, who finished 17th with a time of 14:51; fifth grad- er Ella Hartke, who fin- ished 19th with a time of 15:03; sixth grader Mi- chaela Gray, who finished 20th with a time of 15:03; eighth grader Morgan An- derson, who finished 22nd with a personal record time of 15:35, besting her previ- ous PR time of 16:02 by 27 seconds; fourth grader Gra- cie Hill finished 23rd with a personal record time of 15:43, besting her previous course record time of 17:05 by 82 seconds; fifth grader Karlee Bolin finished 24th with a personal record time of 16:29, besting her previ- ous PR time of 16:48 by 19 seconds; fifth grader Bren- na Potts finished 28th with a time of 17:54; fifth grad- er Destiny Jackson fin- ished 25th with a personal record time of 17:35, best- ing her previous PR time of 17:56 by 21 seconds; and eighth grader Hailey Park- er finished 31st with a time of 19:09. "My girls did an ex- cellent job this evening, over-achieving my expec- tations," Pike Central head coach Bridget Butcher said. "Xavery, an athlete who has set high standards for her- self and our entire team, came out tonight with the intention of winning and did just that. Anna kept her strides long and powerful, which earned her a third- place finish. Izzy Luker came out tonight and had one of her best performanc- es in a few weeks, placing her fifth. Ruby Sallee, Quin- lan Teague, Morgan Sal- lee, Eibhlin Teague and Lexie Onyett once again amazed me tonight by how well they all push each oth- er to improve. These girls somehow always get in a rhythm and a strong pack that keeps them charging the entire race. Ella Hart- ke ran a great race tonight and really pushed herself through some injuries she has been battling the sec- ond half of the season." BOYS In the boys' division, Gib- son Southern claimed the first seven spots while post- ing a 15 -50 victory over the host Chargers. "My boys were up against a terrific Gibson South- ern team," Butcher said. "The boys are well aware of what they are capable of and knew that if they were going to stand a chance against Gibson Southern, they were going to need to beat their best times of the year drastically." Seventh grader Dallas Reutopohler was Pike Cen- tral's top finisher, placing eighth out of 24 total run- ners with a time of 12:31. Sixth grader Wyatt Luff placed 16th with a time of 14:17, while fourth grad- er Brayden Hartley placed 17th with a time of 14:37. "Dallas finished the race battling hard to keep all Titans behind his back," Butcher said. "Wyatt and Brayden stuck close to- gether for the first half of the race and kept each oth- er motivated to cross the finish line with purpose." In addition, fifth grader Carter McCain placed 22nd with a personal record time of 17:37, besting his previ- ous PR time of 19:04 by 87 seconds; and fourth grad- er Garry Anderson placed 23rd with a personal record time of 18:39, besting his previous PR time of 18:51 by 12 seconds. "Carter came out and performed his best race of the season," Butcher said. "He has been working real- ly hard in practice to take advantage of the down hlls we have here on our course, and extending his stride to maximize his potential. Carter did just that tonight, and set the tone for the next race to take place." "Tonight was the per- fect night to finish our last home meet for the season," Butcher added. "Although the temperatures were in the mid 80s, the athletes had purposeful goals for the evening. Each of my runners had a specific job to do tonight, either that be to focus incredibly hard on setting a personal re- cord, pushing themselves to make the top 10 in their race, or putting themselves in a position to win."
