Charger senior Braden Howald had a big night with nearly 200 yards of total offense and intercepting a pass, but, it ultimately was not enough as Tell City pulled away late in the third quarter to a 50 -27 win. The Chargers returned the opening kickoff to the 35 yard line and used a balanced attack on a 13-play drive to march the football inside the Marksmen red zone. Facing a fourth and one near the Tell City 10 a Charger false start penalty backed the offense up five yards to bring out the field goal unit. Peyton Howald connected on a 32-yard field goal to give PC an early 3-0 lead. Tell City returned the ensuing kickoff 75 yards to the Charger 10 -yard line, but a hold- ing penalty pushed the Marksmen just out- side the red zone and put the Marksmen in- to long down and distance. Tell City faced a fourth and 10 from the PC 14-yard line and the defense forced an incompletion from Quarter- back Tyce Dupont. The Chargers got the ball back deep in their own end with the lead and early mo- mentum, but, the offense stalled when quar- terback Matt Meadows was sacked forcing a punt. Tell City once again had a strong kick re- turn, and, after a penalty took over inside the PC 40. The Marksmen pounded out a series of four and fiveyard runs and the Chargers were penalized for a 15 -yard facemask pushing the football to the 10.
