Evansville woman summoned for suspended prior By James Capozella Press-Dispatch News news@pressdispatch.net An Evansville woman was stopped for driving 88 mph in posted 70 mph zone on I-69 by Indiana State Trooper Dustin Stein on October 1. Radijah Shelby, 28, 1812 S Elliott St., Evansville, was clocked traveling 88 mph in the northbound lane and when stopped, said she was speeding. A fter Stein's dispatch in- formed him Shelby was sus- pended prior, he cited her to court on October 25 and had her call a valid driver to pick the vehicle up. Finney cited for OVWI By James Capozella Press-Dispatch News news@pressdispatch.net Alan D. Finney, 53, 420 W Division, Oakland City, was arrested for OV WI by Pike County Sheriff Deputy Jared Simmons after a check on his driving status came back sus- pended prior. Finney had pulled onto SR64 from a driveway when Deputy Simmons made the traffic stop around 8:30 pm on October 1. Deputy Simmons wrote in his case report that Finney knew he was suspend- ed but said it was his only way to get around. Finney showed signs of methamphetamine intoxica- tion with slurred, rapid and muttered speech, bloodshot and watery eyes and pupils unresponsive to light. Fin- ney failed field sobriety tests and told deputy Simmons he would take a chemical test and that it will be dirty according to the report. A chemical test at Daviess Community Hospital came back positive for metham- phetamine and amphetamine. Simmons transported Finney to the Pike County Jail where he was arrested for operating a vehicle with schedule I or II controlled substance or its metabolite in the body. Williams cited for operating while never licensed By James Capozella Press-Dispatch News news@pressdispatch.net Angel A. Williams, 28, 1222 Poplar St., Clarksville, Ten- nessee, was cited by Indiana State Trooper James H. Man- ning for operating a vehicle while never licensed after be- ing clocked at 97 mph on I69. The September 22 traffic stop revealed Williams had two children age five years and the other nine months held on her mother's lap in the front passenger seat of the car. Williams explained to Stein that they were moving from Tennessee to Indianapolis and the children were in front be- cause of her property in the back of the Ford Fusion. Pike County Sheriff Deputy Kane Osgatharp was request- ed for assistance and a search of the vehicle turned up noth- ing according to the report. A tow truck was called to take possession of her vehicle. Williams and her passen- gers were transported to a gas station in Petersburg where Williams could wait for a val- id driver to pick the four up. Williams was given a sum- mons date of October 25 at 8:30 am according to the re- port.
