PAULINE FREIERSHAUS CLARY Pauline Freiershaus Clary, 78, died Saturday, May 9, 2020, at Peak Resources in Shelby. A Native of Panama, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ester Freiershaus. She had a love for garden- ing and animals, and spend- ing time with her granddaugh- ter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Clary. She is survived by on thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct thy paths." Joyce is survived by a daughter, Joy Ruark Currie and husband Jeffrey of Florida; a son, James Lee Ruark and wife Margaret of Granite Falls; a sister, Jimmie Rucker Patton of Charlotte; grandchildren, Ian Elliott Ruark, and Keegan James Ruark; nephew, Stephen Patton; niece, Sally Patton Collins; great nephew, Justin Collins; great niece, Sophie Collins; and many loving cousins. MARSHA SHYTLE CROWDER BABB Shelby: Marsha Shytle Crowder Babb, 67, went to be with her mother and Lord, on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 10, 2020, after suffering from several illnesses over the last few years. A native of Cleveland County, she is the daughter of Gene Shytle and his wife Linda Morrison Shytle of Shelby, and the late Mary Ann Jones Shytle. Marsha served as a Community Service Coordinator for Cleveland County and east- ern N.C., and later worked in local real estate. She also was the former owner of the Merle Norman Studio in Shelby. She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Eddie Babb, of the home; sons, William E. "Billy" Crowder IV and wife Michelle of Gastonia, and Michael Crowder and wife Lynne of Lakeland, FL; step-son, Rodney Babb and wife Allison of Easley, SC; step-daughter, Rebekah Babb and husband Jason Rice of Charleston, SC; brother, Chip Shytle and wife Evelyn of Laurinburg; grand- children, Kristina Lucas and husband Tim, Kayla Babb, Timothy Thorne, Chrissy Thorne Thompson and hus- band Christopher, Olivia Crowder Markham and hus- band Jayme, Emily Crowder, Andersen Crowder, Judah Crowder, Elisabeth Crowder great-grandchildren, Karter Alexander, Jayceon Brooks, Mystah Freeman, Princess Feaster and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Due to recent coronavi- rus state guidelines limit- ing the size of gatherings, a memorial service for Mrs. Feaster will be held at a later date. She was viewed on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Ellis Chapel Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. ADRIANA ROSA ANDRADE-CISNEROS PADGETT Adriana Rosa Andrade- Cisneros Padgett, age 89, died Thursday, May 7, 2020 at The Sanctuary at Stonehaven II in Charlotte, NC. Born in Otavalo, Ecuador on February 16, 1931, she was the daugh- ter of the late Hector Leonidas Andrade and Maria Emilia Andrade-Cisneros. Adriana was a member of First Baptist Church in Shelby, and was formerly active in the Shelby Christian Women's Club and the Red Hat Society. She came to the United States and learned Pottery and hand- loomed tapestry design and took those skills back to teach the Indian population in her hometown of Otavalo, where she was the former Queen of the Yamor Festival and was the first runner up for Miss Ecuador in the early 1950's. In addition to her parents, Adriana is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Charles Padgett, two broth- ers; Marco and Edgar, and two sisters; America and Bertita. Adriana is survived by a son Charles "Chuck" Barrett Padgett Jr. of Monroe; three daughters, Cynthia Mattsson and husband Howard of Gilboa, NY; Dora Ley and and Jonah Crowder; and her beloved toy poodles, Willie, Molly, Curly and Moe. A graveside service was held 2pm, Wednesday, May 13, 2020, in Sunset Cemetery, with the Rev. Mickey Pruitt officiating. ARTHUR CHARLES MOORE Holyoke: Arthur Charles Moore, 77, of 260 East Hampton Road, passed away on Tuesday, May 5th, 2020, in Holyoke, MA. Born in Blacksburg, he was the son of the late Charlie Moore and Moree Upchurch Moore. Mr. Moore was self- employed as a carpenter. Mr. Moore had two siblings. His brother was Roger Moore and his sister was Patricia Norman. Graveside services were held Thursday, May 14th, 2020 at 10:00 am at Clingman Memorial Gardens, 1219 East Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC 29702. Interment fol- lowed at Clingman Memorial Gardens. LAURETTA MUNGEN WHITE Mrs. Lauretta Mungen White, 64, of 302 Miles Road Shelby, NC passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020 at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby. She was born in Passaic County, NJ on August 22, 1955 to the late James Allen and Caroline Moore Allen. Lauretta relocated to Shelby, NC in 1997. Always a hard working person, she held various employment posi- tions throughout her lifetime and was currently employed with Wal-Mart in Shelby. Working was almost a hobby for her because she enjoyed it so much. She also enjoyed making people laugh. Her other pastimes included writ- ing, jigsaw puzzles and col- lecting things which included various types of figures and coins from around the world. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Regina Bradley and two aunts and two uncles. Left to cherish precious memories are her husband, her sons, Chris Clary and wife Cheryl of York, SC, and Derek Clary and wife Kathy of Ellenboro; a very special granddaughter, Courtney Clary of Ellenboro; sister, Grace Santos of Tampa, FL. A Family and Friends Graveside service was held Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at 1:00 PM in Cleveland Memorial Park, with Rev. Alan Davis officiating. JOYCE ELLIOTT RUCKER RUARK Joyce Elliott Rucker Ruark, age 94, formerly of Shelby, died Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Hickory Falls Health and Rehab supported by Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born in Rutherford County on December 14, 1925, she was the daughter of the late R. James Rucker and Panthea Elliott Rucker. Joyce was a member of Shelby Presbyterian Church. She was a 1942 graduate of Shelby High School where she was President of The National Honor Society, a Cheerleader, member of the Glee Club and on the Tennis Team. Joyce graduated from UNC-G with a BA degree in Sociology. Joyce was an active volunteer in Church, and her community, and trav- eled extensively. She loved people and lived by Proverbs 3:5&6, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not William White; two daugh- ters, Jonetta Mungen of Shelby and Dolores White of NJ; one bonus son, William White, Jr. of Shelby; one brother, James Allen (Domina) of NJ; one sister, Archline Desamours of NJ; four grandchildren, Diamond Mungen, Dominique Black, Elyjah Strachan and Kyle Reynolds; one aunt, Rebecca Moore of NJ; a god-son, Zion Daley and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. KATHERYN PAULINE DOVER JACKSON Katheryn Pauline Dover Jackson, 67, of Kings Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on May 7, 2020 at Jim Tesla Hospice House in Kings Mountain, NC. She was born on September 28, 1952 to Louise Lovelace Dover and the late Paul Mitchell Dover. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Bobby Eugene Jackson, and broth- er, Ronald Gary Dover. She is survived by her two sons, Timothy Jackson and wife Hope; David Jackson; her daughter-in-law, Melissa; grandchildren: Travis, Tyler, Kaylee and Anthony; Sisters: Teresa Jackson and hus- band Bishop Brady Jackson, Kimberly Smith and husband Jamey Sr., and nieces and nephews. She was a founding mem- ber and on the Executive Board of Royal Praise Ministries. She touched the lives of everyone whose path she crossed. She spoke with compassion and Prophetic words of wisdom into the lives of many people. A private ceremony will be held for the family.
