The physical changes as we age almost always require special attention. For many, that includes changes in appetite and personal care habits. Of course, this calls for supplies to assist with nutritional and incontinence needs. However, these items, expensive as they are, typi- cally are an issue for an older person's budget. The Neal Center has an assistance program for these needs. Whether the need is for nutritional supplements (such as the nutritional bev- erage, "Boost"), or inconti- nent supplies (such as pull- ups), a phone call to the Neal Center is the answer to these needs. To determine eligibil- ity for these programs, you must call the Neal Center to arrange for an appointment. Appointments are avail- able from 11AM-2:30PM, Monday through Thursday. To obtain information on an appointment, please call the Neal Center at 704/482- 3488. Let the Neal Center be of assistance during difficult times! Even long before the COVID-19 crisis, the Neal Center food pantry has provided groceries for the older citizens of Cleveland County. This service has proven itself to be especially valuable in recent weeks. Thanks to the generosity of many individuals, local com- panies, organizations and churches, the Neal Center has been able to assist those facing the difficulty of pur- chasing food. If you're a Cleveland County resident, at least age 50, you're eligible for this ser- vice. Interested individuals must call the Neal Center at 704/482-3488 to arrange an appointment for eligibility. The center is currently open Monday through Thursday, 8AM-3PM. Appointments for this service are available from 11AM-2:30PM. The Neal Center is shar- ing one of our most popu- lar classes via Facebook Live! Our "Chair Yoga" class, taught by Caroline Dedmon, is very popular with the senior citizens of our area. Caroline is pro- viding live instruction in this popular and fun activ- ity each Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 9:30am. The class enables anyone to learn about relaxation, meditation, breathing techniques and managing stress. With the increased stress our world is dealing with right now, this would be a great class to take part in! Though the class is aimed at seniors, anybody of any age is welcome to join Caroline on Facebook to see her class. Even an indi- vidual who is confined to a wheelchair can take part and benefit from the class, too. If you're not able to join the group when it's presented live, you can always return to FB at your convenience and see the class anytime you would like. The class is about 45 minutes long and viewers are welcome to share the link of her class with anyone.
