"The United Way of Pike County kicked off its 16th annu- al Day of Caring on September 21. We had almost 100 volun- teers who helped 12 Pike Coun- ty agencies. These volunteers helped complete projects that otherwise might have never got- ten done because of lack of man- power and/or financials etc," said Krista Robinette, Executive Director of Pike Co. United Way. The day's event started with a sponsored breakfast by the Pike Co. Community Foun- dation at Randy's Americana Cafe for its volunteers. They all received a t-shirt to wear on the job and lunch was pro- vided by Amber Manor. "United Way of Pike Coun- ty hopes to raise the level of awareness of the needs as well as the ser vices provided by these agencies. A big thank you to our sponsors: Pike County Community Founda- tion and Amber Manor Care Center. Thank you, Randy's Americana Café for hosting our breakfast and a big thank you to all of our volunteers for all of your time and hard work that you put into today!"- said Robinette.
