Noth- ing weighs on his heart, pulling him away from life's readily present joys. This week PAWS is fea- turing a laid back feline fellow named Arnie, who was found at the school in the Spring when school was about to break for the summer. He evidently was being fed by some of the students. They feared for his well being while no one would be around, due to summer break. He landed at PAWS and is awaiting a new family to call his own. Arnie is very calm, carefree and is a beauti- fully marked, black and white short-haired tab- by, who has been neu- tered, has all his shots, and can be adopted for PAWS WEEK PAWS WEEK Pet of the ARNIE Continued from page 1 Continued on page 3 $ 30. How should you observe the Sabbath? One way to look at it is through the let- ter of the word "Rest": R- everence for God; E-xalting His name; S -erving Others; T-ime set aside. "Say to the Israelites, 'You must observe my Sabbaths, This will be a sign between me and you for the genera- tions to come, so you may know that I am the Lord, who makes you holy. Ob- serve the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it must be put to death; whoever does any work on that day must be cut off from his people" (Exodus 31:13-14). The Bible warned the peo- ple in Noah's day, "My Spir- it shall not strive with man forever" (Gen. 6:3). They laughed at Noah and mocked his words, and went about their usual business and their pleasures without ever dreaming he might be right. God was speaking, but they ignored Him. Eventually God's patience gave out and by then it was too late. Out- side the ark, men and wom- en struggled for their lives, clutching at pieces of drift- wood, until the pitiless hand of death reached up and drew them down beneath those cruel waves. All were lost. Every soul outside the ark perished. They had their chance, but tossed it away. You cannot come to Christ unless the Spirit of God brings you. But what if you ignore His warnings? Then you are in the gravest of dan- ger, for someday God will no longer be speaking to you. We have been having some very spirit filled ser- vices. If at any time you have no church to attend, feel free to join us for services. I'm sure you will leave feeling blessed. Jerry "Tuffy" Blackwell, Pastor Sharon Kendall, Reporter PLEASANT RIDGE G.B. Be in prayer this week for the lost, the sick, our church, our country and leaders, and always each other. God's blessings on you this week. "I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, for He has clothed me with garments of salva- tion, He as covered me with the robe of righteousness" (Isaiah 61:10). Some translations use "robe" of salvation. Salva- tion is the deliverance from the power of penalty of sin. Righteousness is concern- ing ethical conduct brought about by the Holy Spirit (Ga- latians 5:22-23). You can have salvation and not have righteous- ness. Now do we get to go to heaven without one of these? Take a close look at the 10 virgins in Matthew 5:1-13. Pray for our military and their protection. Also, remember to pray for the USA, peace and for one an- other. Peace not Fear Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. ( John 14:27) In times like these with hurricanes, wild fires, earthquakes and so much more, it is hard to find peace and easy to find fear in nearly everything. God does not give the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind(2 Tim- othy 1:7) In turn, he gives us the power to find peace and comfort in him in trou- bled times. God also gives us love and not only his abundant unfailing love, but the power to give that love to others. So in times like these, instead of being afraid, we should pray and open up our hearts to oth- ers, sharing the love that God has given us, so that they too may find peace in their troubled times. We welcome you to all services. Come and wor- ship Jesus with us. See our Facebook page Glezen Revival Center. Website: grcenter.net – E- mail address: glezenreviv- alcenter@yahoo.com.
