Everyone is welcome at the Lighthouse. You Find What You Look For It is said that two kinds of birds fly over the California deserts: the hummingbird and the vulture. All the vulture can see is rotting meat because that is all he looks for. He thrives on that diet. But the humming- bird ignores the carcasses and the smelly flesh of dead animals. Instead, he looks for the tiny blossoms of the cac- tus flowers. He buzzes around until he finds the colorful blooms almost hidden from view by the rocks. Each bird finds what it is looking for. What are you looking for? Better still-what are you find- ing? What you are finding tells what you are really look- ing for. Your expectations of life will determine your out- come. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us. But praise God, "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). What things will be add- ed? God's order back into our lives—a peace that pass- es all understanding—He is in control. Questions regarding ZOAR U.M. CHURCH 8818 W. For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weep- ing may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morn- ing. Hear, O Lord and have mercy on me; Lord, be my helper. You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, to the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be si- lent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever" (Psalm 30 :4,5,10 -12). We look forward to see- ing you at all of our servic- es! Sunday morning worship service at 10 a.m. with Sun- day school classes at 11 a.m. Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man what God has prepared for those that love Him. I believe in this scripture with all of my being, that before long God is going to move by the pre- cious Holy Spirit. A mov- ing of the Spirit in a fashion we have not seen nor expe- rienced. I am so moved in my spirit that I have a great expectancy. Are you expe- riencing a deep moving in your spirit? Be ready for it will come to past. The main thing is that you have made the main thing the main thing in your live and that is Jesus. I believe we are living in a time that some amazing things are about to transpire in the Kingdom of God and for His children. If you do not know Him as Lord and Saviour, invite Him into your live today. Our main focus in life should be for the lost, hurt- ing, helpless, and undone. Pray for your President and all government officials, federal, state, county and lo- cal. This is being in agree- ment with God's Word. Re- member those that are sick, in the hospitals, nursing homes, loved ones, and your Pastor. Take time to read God's Word and pray. Be a friend to someone in need and be a blessing to those around you. What is missing in Ch_ _ ch? Think about it. George Bruce, Pastor MAIN STREET PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH 10th and Main Streets, Petersburg 812-354-6844 Sunday school 9:15 a.m.; Sunday worship 10 :30 a.m. We have a nursery for chil- dren up to the age of seven and we also have a van route in Petersburg to pick anyone up. Come visit us, our doors are always open to you. Staying fed "How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! " (Psalm 119:103, NRSV ). Recently I was confront- ed with this question: If you fed yourself with food the way you feed yourself with God's Word, would you still be alive? It gave me pause. Do I eat enough spiritual- ly? – feast regularly enough on Scripture to keep up my energy and the health of my soul? Do I eat nutritiously? – take in a balanced meal of law and gospel, comfort and commandments, proph- ecy and promise? Do I pass up spiritual junk food? – set aside empty calories that lead to disease, in order to hunger for what truly gives life? Do I drink enough Liv- ing Water to avoid faith de- hydration? And once in a while, do I splurge on des- sert? – savor the sweetness and joy of belonging at God's table? Office hours: 9 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday. Dear God One night a father over- heard his son pray: Dear God, make me the kind of man my daddy is. Later that night, the father prayed, Dear God, make me the kind of man my son wants me to be. Every father should pray this prayer. Fathers be an example to your children. Fathers, do not exasper- ate your children; instead, bring them up in the train- ing and instruction of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4 NIV ). "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it" (Proverbs 22:6). Happy Father's Day. We invite all of you to come and worship with us.
