Friday Community Health Screenings – Fri- day, June 16 from 7–9 a.m. in the Health and Wellness Classroom at Memorial Southside Office, 1100 West 12th Avenue in Jasper. Participants must be 18 years of age or older and will have cholesterol (including total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides) and blood glucose checked via finger stick. A 12-hour fast is re- quired; however, you may drink water and take pre- scribed medications. The cost is $25 and may be paid at the screening. The screening lasts approximately 15 minutes, and pre-registration is required. To register, visit Memorial Hospital's website at www.mhhcc.org and click on "Health Screenings." Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Support Group – Memorial's Caring Hands Senior Services sponsors an Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care- giver Support Group on the first Wednesday of each month. The next meeting is Wednesday July 7, 2017, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in Board Conference Room A, which is located on the lower level of Memorial Hospi- tal near the Tower Café at 800 West 9th Street in Jas- per. This support group allows caregivers to come to- gether to share knowledge and experiences in caring for loved ones who are affected by these illnesses. What Flies at Night—Join entomology expert Lau- ren Unfried and discover what flies at night at the Pa- toka River National Wildlife Refuge on June 17 at 7:30 p.m. CDT. The event will begin with an evening hike around Maxey Marsh and will conclude with an inves- tigation of what can be found flying at night on the Ref- uge. Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for an evening hike, including hiking shoes, insect re- pellent, and bring a flashlight/headlamp and bug net if possible. Children should be accompanied by an adult. The event will last approximately 1 1/2 hours. To get to Maxey Marsh, take SR 64 East through Oakland City to CR 1275 (look for the brown Refuge sign). Turn left (north) on CR 1275 and follow the brown Refuge signs to Maxey Marsh. Parking is available on the right or the left side of the road. The Trilogy 200 Wellness Tour made a stop at Am- ber Manor nursing home in Petersburg. On Thurs- day the third and final day of the event started at Am- ber Manor. About 40 Trilogy employees participated in the three-day 200 mile ride. It started with a send off that included participants talking about how they changed their lives by starting healthy habits.
