The event will take place on Saturday, October 23rd from 10:00AM– 2:00PM and will be for ladies of all ages. For a donation of just $20.00 ($25.00 after October 1st), you will enjoy a delicious meal from McAlister’s of Gastonia (their food is wonderful) while watching a fashion show all about how to dress well in today’s economy. Someone from the modeling industry will emcee the event. You will also enjoy four guest speakers, and special entertainment, and visit vendors with door prizes to give away, (Clothes from Emmie’s Consignment) Featured speakers will be Caroline Rogers of Spartanburg, South Carolina, who will tell her story of how she went from school teacher to a pastoral care ministry, Nancy Abasiekong who will give us tips for Living Healthy, Patsy Turner, owner of Good Things Consignment & More in Clover, South Carolina on how she went from employee to entrepreneur and Holly Sweat from Cleveland Community College who will tell us “How to Sell Yourself in Today’s Job Market.”. A free gift will be given to the first 50 who register by paying their $20.00. To obtain a ticket, you may see our recep- tionist, or the Mitchem girls, or many of our seniors who are selling tickets as well. We hope you ladies will come out and enjoy a relaxing, and encouraging time and help us raise money for the Center! Grab a girlfriend or two and come join the fun! This would make a great birthday present for that special friend who has everything. Thank you, Annie’s girls for hosting this special event in memory of your wonderful mother, and grandmother, Annie Lee Mitchem. She would be so proud of each of you SENIOR DAY AT CLEVELAND COUNTY FAIR Come join the Center as we take a trip to the Cleveland County Fair in Shelby, North Carolina on Tuesday, October 5th from 11:00AM—2:30PM. These types of records make it easier for criminals to get control over accounts in your name and assume your identity. If you receive applications for "preapproved" credit cards in the mail, but discard them without tearing up the enclosed materials, criminals may retrieve them and try to activate the cards for their use without your knowledge. (Some credit card companies, when sending credit cards, have adopted security measures that allow a card recipient to activate the card only from his or her home telephone number but this is not yet a universal practice.) Also, if your mail is delivered to a place where others have ready access to it, criminals may simply intercept and redirect your mail to another location. In order to help prevent scam artists from stealing your identity, it is recommended that you shred papers with your social security number, Medicare numbers, or any other personal information and credit card offers. If you don’t have a shredder, the Center can help you with that problem. Once a quarter, the Center offers Document Shredding. This quarter Document Shredding will be on Monday, October 25th. A volunteer will be in the Library/Computer Room to assist you in They will show you how to use the machine and then let you shred your own papers or they can shred them for you as you wait. We want to help you protect your identity! Come take advantage of this FREE service. (Copied from US DOJ website. shredding your private documents.
