D-2 Wednesday, September 7, 2022 The Press-Dispatch looked upon thee, behold, thy time [was] the time of love; . . . yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.--Whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth. Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fier y trial which is to tr y you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inas- much as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glor y shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceed- ing joy.--Our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more ex- ceeding [and] eternal weight of glor y; while we look not at the things which are seen. If at any time you have no church to attend, feel free to join our ser vices, I know you will leave feeling blessed. Jerr y (Tuffy) Blackwell, Pastor Sharon Kendall, Reporter NEW LIBERTY G.B. Then some stood up and gave this false testimony against him: "We heard him say, 'I will destroy this temple made with human hands and in three days will build an- other, not made with hands.'" Yet even then their testimony did not agree. Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?" But Je- sus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Bless- ed One?" "I am," said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven." The high priest tore his clothes. "Why do we need any more witnesses?" he asked. "You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?" They all condemned him as worthy of death. (Mark 14:57-64). Joe Henson, Pastor Matt Haycraft, Reporter JESUS CHRIST OUR FIRM FOUNDATION 1415 N. We Never Pray Alone We know that ever yone will at some point, travail in pain and groan under the pressure of life. Christians are no ex- ception. As Christians, having the first fruits of the Spirit, we have the peace in knowing we never pray alone. When we don't know where to start or how to pray, the Holy Spirit Himself, will pray to the Fa- ther for us, and Christ is seat- ed at the right hand of God praying too. "For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together un- til now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves...Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmaties: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for us with groan- ings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. ....Christ...is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us" (Romans 8:22, 23, 26, 27, 34). Romans 5:8 tells us," For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit." I often find it difficult to live out this verse. The daily news casts seem to show us tragedy and acts of violence cast on individuals and families at home and around the world. We rarely see messages of hope, good will, neighborly conduct or plain acts of kindness anymore. It is truly difficult to not be concerned about the state of human society. But don't lose faith. We can change this world. The apostle Paul was right when he wrote Romans 5:8. God works through the blessings and kindnesses found in simple things to feed our souls and renew our spirits. A fter I have spent time in prayer and/or reading my Bible it is easier for me to see God's blessings and find strength to face each day. Jason Dean, Pastor See CHURCH on page 3
