Pike Central lost the match 4-1 as they forfeited two matches to Titans because they were short two players. Arnold, a sophomore, beat Gibson Southern's se- nior number one player, Jake Decker. Arnold won the first set 6-3, but Decker turned the tables on him in the second set, before Arnold then pulled out a 6-4 win in the deciding third set. Adon Lemond and JJ Bel- more, at number one doubles lost 6-2, 6-2 and Nate Carter and Kaden Englert playing at number two doubles lost 6-1, 6-1 to Grant Wade and Noah Kiesel. On Saturday, the Chargers lost to North Davies 5-0. Arnold at number one sin- gles lost 6-0, 6-0 to the Cou- gars' senior Jaylen Mullen. Charger Adon Lemond play- ing number 2 singles fell 6-1, 6-2 to Carter Jesse, while Nate Carter lost 6-1, 6-1 to North Da- viess' Coby Loheiderg. In doubles the Charger pair of Parker Knust and JJ Bell- more fell 6-4, 6-2 at number one. The Chargers forfeited number two doubles. Lady Chargers score early in 4-0 win By James Capozella Press-Dispatch Sports sports@pressdispatch.com Four Lady Chargers found the net in a 4-0 win over the Evansville Bosse Lady Bulldogs this past Monday night on the Char- ger field. The Charger girls got out to an early 3-0 star t in the first half and then con- tinued their defense adding a final score from Wren Kabrick with an assist by Keena Young. Lady Charger head soccer coach Chad Western said, "Ever yone played great in the win. Emma Brock got an early goal off an assist from Kahle Young. Lillian Thomp- son got a ver y nice goal on a long run on the left side. Kahle Young scored off an assist from Kennedy Willis to round out the Lady Char- ger first half scoring." Coach Western added, "Wren Kabrick played goalie the first half and did a great job. The second half, Pike Central had a lot of chances and Kabrick was able to get a goal off an assist by Keena Young. Lainey Leighty and Kennedy Willis split time in the goal during the second half." Bird Hunter Youth Day By James Capozella It is not too early to mark your calender for the 16th Annual Pike County Bird Hunters' Club Youth Day. Saturday, October 8 is the date, starting at 8 a.m. with a free breakfast for all youth, followed by archer y, muzzle loader, BB gun, darts, .22 rifle marksmanship, trap shooting and Chukkar hunt- ing (over dogs). The club welcomes all 4-H Shooting Sports youth, Scouts and all other youth interested in the great outdoors. The new clubhouse is lo- cated five miles south of Pe- tersburg and two miles west on Division Road. All youth ages seven through 18 are welcome. For more informa- tion contact Chris Kinman at 812-789-3125. No firearms are to be brought to the club. All fire- arms, ammunition and equip- ment will be provided. After the club provides lunch, a K-9 demonstration by Pike County Deputy Sheriff Buck Seger and his K-9 Bleck will take place. A random drawing for more than $4,000 worth of rifles, shotguns and archery equipment follows the K-9 demonstration.
