Miller charged with strangulation and domestic battery By James Capozella Press-Dispatch news news@pressdispatch.net A 911 call to Pike County Central Dispatch at 5 p.m. Saturday resulted in the ar- rest of Thomas Kent Miller, 64, of 1619 W SR 64, Oak- land City, for strangulation, intimidation with a deadly weapon and domestic bat- ter y according to a report by Pike County Sheriff's Depu- ty Briar Meadors. Diana Wil- son reported the domestic batter y after she had gone to a neighbor's home for the night according to the report. Deputy Meadors was assisted by Deputy Br yce Manning and Indiana State Trooper Hunter Manning in investigating the earlier inci- dent between Miller and Wil- son which had taken place on Friday night. Wilson had told the neighbors she was choked for about 30 seconds with a horse lasso rope by Miller ac- cording to the report. When Wilson went back the fol- lowing day to retrieve some property, Miller reportedly threatened to kill her with an aluminum baseball bat. Wilson was able to get away from Miller but he broke the front door glass pane to get into the residence. Wil- son then called 911 and ran across the highway where police met her. Both the rope and baseball bat were found and taken as evidence. Miller was arrest- ed for strangulation, intimi- dation with a deadly weapon and domestic batter y com- mitted with a deadly weapon, and then transported to the Pike County Jail. you can learn a lot from the Newspaper!
