Differences in relationships can cause great frustration— in the church and in marriage. But managed well, they can help us become more Christ- like. The Word of the LORD Tried Him In Genesis 41, we read of a man named Joseph. He was the governor over the land of Egypt, second only to Pharaoh himself. Joseph is selling and distributing grain from a mas- sive store house in the middle of a world wide famine. The Bible tells us that God sent the famine, but Scripture also says He sent Joseph to Egypt before the famine to prepare for it. "Moreover he (God) called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread. He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a ser vant: whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him." (Psalm 105: 16-19) God sent Joseph as a slave and later he became a prisoner before becoming lord of Pharaoh's house and ruler of all his substance. God used extreem trials to prepare Joseph for a great mission. When we find ourselves in a dire situation, just pray for the grace to go through. He has a plan for you.
