She has much to show us about the gift of imagina- tion....of dreams...of tak- ing time to skip on downy clouds"—Jules Verne. This week, PAWS is fea- turing a pleasant young cat named Snowball, who has many characteris- tics of the Turkish Van, with auburn markings on her thick, plush tail. She is a tranquil, playful gal and can often be found perched on her basket bed in the cat room at PAWS. Snowball has plush white fur, golden eyes and can be adopted by calling 812-354-9894. Everyone is wel- come. Remember those on our prayer list, the shut-ins and our lost loved ones. Psalm 91 tells us, when we stay close to Him and call upon Him, He hears and saves. We must confess our deepest fears to Him, in- stead of feeding or sedating those fears or trying to build our own "fortress" of protec- tion. Instead, we draw clos- er to Him and trust Him with all our worries and cares. "He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him" (Psalm 91:15). Ken Reeder, Pastor Karri Brock, Reporter GR ACE G.B. CHURCH 1007 E. Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly. If we con- fess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us(our) sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. Mine iniquities have tak- en hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me. Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me. Turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God contin- ually. If at any time you have no church to attend, feel free and join us for services. I am sure you will leave be- ing blessed. For ma- ny, this is hardest time of the year. At the beginning you're on fire, you're full of resolve. Your goals are set, you know what you're after, and noth- ing can stop you. In January gym member- ships spikes. If you go to a gym after work in January VINCENT CHRISTIAN CHURCH 8264 E. You are invited to at- tend these services. The Bible Someone said, "Bad men or devils would not have written the Bible, for it con- demns them and their work. Good men or angels could not have written it, for in saying that it was from God when it was their own inven- tion, they would have been guilty of a falsehood and could not have been good. The remaining Being who could have written it is God." "All scripture if given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for re- proof, for correction, for in- struction in righteousness" (II Timothy 3:16). Because He lives. John Manges, Minister there are hardly any open parking spaces and inside it's busier than Target or Walmart on Black Friday. But this time of year as we approach the end of the sec- ond month, gym attendance start to lower, maybe not by much, but it's noticeable. Why is this? How is it that just two months ago your re- solve was so firm, you didn't think the gates of hell could previal, but now you start to slack and get discouraged? I think it's the way we handle our goals. We create mara- thon goals, and try to tackle them at a sprint pace. In January we're going to lose 50 lbs in a year, but when we haven't reached half that in two months, discourage- ment sets in. The author of Hebrews speaks of life in terms of a race. Keep run- ning, throw off everything that hinders. This means life is more of a marathon than a sprint. If we want to see results in the health of our families, we have to buckle down for the long haul, rath- er than a short sprint. Don't focus on running fast, focus on running strong. Don't let this year pass wishing you hadn't given up, lace up to run long this year, keep run- ning the race. Everyone welcome. Also, remem- ber to pray for the USA, peace and for one another. Faith in Prayer "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." (Mark 11:24, NIV ). A lot of us like to pray and pray, but do not believe or carry the faith after we pray that we will receive what we have asked for. Know- ingly, this is so very hard given most circumstances. When you factor in daily stress, life's ups and downs, along with sudden catastro- phes or problems, let's just say it would seem easier to pour concrete through a gar- den hose. But with God, all things are possible. All we have to do is hold on to that faith and let God handle the rest. Keep praying and talk- ing to God for he is always there to listen and help. There is a forever for ev- eryone. The choices we make determine where we spend our eternity. When we mature in relationship with God, we walk toward His Kingdom. Standing still or walking away still lead to eternity, but an eternity of suffering. Each new step in the right direction may seem more difficult, but help can be found to take those steps.
