Scripture reading from Luke 14:25 -27 and Sermon title, "Close to Christ." Theme statement: In some way or another, a disciple of Christ will be tested. Jesus' point is not hating, but loving more. Though the disciples of Christ are not all cruci - fied, we all must bear our own cross. There are three steps to walking close to Christ. 1. Refocus our attention on Christ. 2. Review our perspec- tive of Christ. 3. Reflect on our agenda with Christ. Leon Pomeroy, Pastor See more church notes beginning on page C-1.
