Middle School wrestling team goes 1-2 in dual matches Pike Central Middle School's wrestling team was 1-2 in dual matches on Monday night at Pike Central. They beat Forest Park 69 -33, lost to Tecumseh 45 -42 and Tell City 57-33. Cole Parks, at 132 pounds, was 3-0 on the night, with two pins and a forfeit. Several wrestlers were 2-1 on the night. They were Aiden Mc- Giffen (117), Brayden Blount (150), Jackson Stuckey (160), Kale Speedy (175), Corey Goep- pner (195), Hayden Goins (220) and Isaac Marchino (285) Wrestlers winning one match were Billy Like (75), Dalton Kline (90), Gage Gordon (95), Ryan Gladish (125) and Skylar Shelton (140). "We are a very young team in terms of experience, with a lot of sixth graders and first-year wres- tlers. Despite that, this is a very hard-working group. They wres- tle hard, and the mistakes we are making can be corrected with good practice time and good work ethic," said coach John Thompson. Pike Central will host the Pike Central Invitational on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. PCMS WRESTLING These wrestlers were undefeated, picking up three wins in their weight classes in the Boonville Wres- tling Invitational on Tuesday, February 12. PCMS wrestlers split duals with Reitz and Memorial The middle school wres- tling team had a busy week. They traveled to Evansville Memorial and split two du- als, beating Reitz 48 -42 and losing to Memorial 54-45. Winners against Reitz were Cole Parks (132), Sky- lar Shelton (140), Brayden Blount (150), Isaac Shimer (160), Kale Speedy (175), Konner Simmons (195), Hayden Goins (200) and Isaac Marchino (285). Winners against Memori- al were Gage Morton (80), Brycen Knepp (117), Ryan Gladish (125), Parks, Shel- ton, Blount, Simmons and Goins. On Tuesday, February 12, the Chargers traveled to Boonville for their annual wrestling invitational. The Chargers defeated Prince- ton 69 -33, lost to Vincennes 54-51 and lost to Boonville 60 -42. Going 3-0 on the night were Cole Parks (130) with two pins and a decision, Brayden Blount (145) with three pins, Jackson Stuckey (155) with one pin, one de- fault win, and a forfeit, Co- rey Goeppner (200) with two forfeits and a pin, and Isaac Marchino (HWT) with two pins and a forfeit. Going 2-1 on the night was Kris Franklin (175). Finish- ing with one win were Jon- athon Sanchez (105), Aid- en McGiffen (115), Ryan Gladish (125), Skylar Shel- ton (135) and Isaac Shimer (165).
