We have seven Monarch caterpillars in various stages. This morning two were in chrysalis form and four were in the "J" position, meaning getting ready to go into chrysalis formation. We still have one left on the floor of the habitat. But, today we got to watch one go from the "J" position to the chrysalis form, exciting! Today we decided to try tactile spelling. One student used a finger to spell the word on the other student's back. The student had to guess the letters and the word. Then the student had to spell the word aloud. Students worked in pairs and enjoyed spelling in a different way. OMA's third grade class would like to thank the Petersburg Lions Club for purchasing each of them their very own dictionary.
