Good Samaritan is proud to welcome a new physician to our oncology team, Cassandra Lacher, DO. Dr. Lacher's love for science and people led her to becoming a physician. "I've come to appreciate that the specialty of hematology and oncology really allows me to do all the things that I love," said Dr. Lacher. "I am able to care for people during vulnerable and difficult times and provide people with the support they need to meet their goals, and provide comfort and hope even in the most dark and scary situations." Dr. Lacher and her husband, Marcus, reside in Vincennes with their two sons. When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Lacher enjoys being involved with her church, singing and playing the bass guitar, playing board games, spending time with her family and watching St. Louis Cardinals games. Good Samaritan 520 S. Seventh Street Vincennes, IN 47591 812-886-6565 GSHVIN.ORG By Andy Heuring County Commissioners agreed to sell a small sec- tion of ground between the former Petersburg Fire De- partment building and W&V during their brief meeting Monday night. County Attorney Val Fleig told the commissioners the owner of the Sunoco gas sta- tion on Main St. was inter- ested in purchasing a small section of ground the coun- ty owns behind the station. Pike County owns a park- ing lot behind W&V and the Sunoco station. Fleig ex- plained this was a grass ar- ea in an L shape between the old fire department building and the alley. It is about 45 by 35 feet. Commissioner President Brian Davis said he wanted to make sure this wasn't af- fecting one end of the park- ing lot. "He isn't interested in the parking lot," said Fleig. Fleig said there were sev- eral steps the county would have to go through to be able to sell the property. One is it will have to be surveyed. An- other is to have it appraised. Fleig said the property has been appraised once and he thought it had a value of less than $2,000. "I'm trying to avoid having to get two ap- praisals." He added he was going to try to get the As- sessors office to appraise the property. "I need authorization to hire a registered surveyor," said Fleig. "Jim (Middleton, Court- house superintendent) has to mow it. It is really just a nuisance. If you want to sell it, go ahead and get a sur- vey," said Commissioner Jeff Nelson. Commissioner Davis sec- onded Nelson's motion. In other business, the commissioners voted to ap- prove a transfer of $5,000 from workman's compensa- tion to vehicle maintenance and supplies in the EMS budget. Chris Young, EMS Direc- tor, said this was for general maintenance on EMS vehi- cles to "get them to the end of the year." He said they have an ambulance that is having engine trouble. A new ambulance was ap- proved for the 2019 budget, but they have to wait until that funding is approved by the state before ordering the new ambulance. The next meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday, October 15 in the courthouse auditorium. Commissioners discusses selling a small plot of land
