The Press-Dispatch School Wednesday, October 3, 2018 C- 9 Pike Central Winslow Elementary Pike Central Middle School starts a new Robotics Team. Due to the fifth graders' success at Petersburg Ele- mentary, the middle school wanted to provide 6th grad- ers with the opportunity to continue and offer the pro- gram to new students. Kole Besing, Dalton Kline, Aaron Johnson, Noah Fort and Derek VanWormer are one of the teams assembling a robot. The students have been broken up into teams of five and must design and build a robot that can compete against opponents. Above: Noah Meece, Braden Schultheis and Steven Ennis are assembling a robot from their sheets. Once the teams have a robot built they will start competitions starting in November. Left and right: Mrs. West's Homeroom won the middle school canned food drive challenge. On Friday the winning class enjoyed a pizza party during homeroom. MENU Thursday, October 4:Chicken corn dog or grilled cheese sandwich, crinkle cut fries and baked beans. Friday, October 5: Spa- ghetti and meat sauce, breadstick, tossed salad and buttered corn. Monday, October 8: BBQ rib sandwich or ham and cheese sub, potato wedges and cauliflower with cheese. Tuesday, October 9: Chicken strips, dinner roll, mashed potatoes, white gra- vy and California blend veg- gies. Wednesday, October 10 : Beef ravioli or beef chili, breadstick, buttered con, cinnamon grahams and crackers. Menu subject to change. Milk choices offered daily. As- sorted fruits and veggies of- fered daily. MENU Thursday, October 4: BBQ pulled pork, roll, gar- den salad, diced peaches and a rice krispy treat. Friday, October 5: Hot ham and cheese sandwich, oven fries, buttered peas and baked apples. Monday, October 8: Cheeseburger, lettuce, to- mato, sweet potato fries and a banana. Tuesday, October 9: Mac- aroni and cheese, baked beans, buttered carrots and diced peaches. Wednesday, October 10 : Chicken nuggets, Au Gra- tin potatoes, buttered corn and grapes.
