Ed Cahill photo BUFFALO TRACE PARADE Curry arrested for drunken driving Sunday An Evansville man was ar- rested for drunken driving after police responded to a call of a reckless driver on I-69 Sunday night. Darrick T. Curry, 20, was stopped by Petersburg Po- lice Cpl. Kyle Mills at about 9 p.m. when he responded to a call about a reckless driv- er. Cpl. Mills said the call- er had just passed him on I- 69 when he entered the on- ramp. He followed the suspect vehicle, a black Jeep SUV, as it was driving 80 mph in a 70 zone. He said it crossed the fog line and almost went in- to the grass. He then veered into the passing lane before Mills stopped him near the 43-mile marker. Cpl. Mills said he smelled the odor of alcohol as soon as Curry rolled down his win- dow. When Curry reached into his glove box to get his registration, Mills said he saw an open case of beer in the floorboard. According to Mills' re- port, Curry told him he was returning from a Colts foot- ball game. Curry failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the Pike County Jail, where he tested 0.22 percent for blood alcohol content, nearly three times the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
