But psycho- logical suffering is just as re- al and sometimes more dev- astating. It may be an inner grief or sorrow you cannot express, even to your dear- est friend or spouse. It may sap your strength or para- lyze you with anxiety. It may harm your relationships, or even grip you so tightly that it becomes more than just a temporary problem, but a se- rious psychological illness. Paul knew what it was to ex- perience psychological suffer- ing; he had told the Corinthi- ans he had written them "out of much affliction and an- guish of heart" (II Corinthi- ans 2:4). Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, "being in ag- ony, prayed more earnestly" (Luke 22:44). A fter denying NEW LIBERTY G.B. CHURCH (Coe) 1820 S. Co Rd. 800 S. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so won- drously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count my- self an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckon- ing us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back. So let's keep focused on that goal, those of us who want every- thing God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision— you'll see it yet. Now that we're on the right track, let's stay on it.
