A-4 Local Wednesday, August 29, 2018 The Press-Dispatch AREA HAPPENINGS Petersburg Senior Citizens Center - The senior cit- izens center is open from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday, Tues- day, Wednesday and Friday in the Pike County Court- house basement. A big meal is served on Wednesday, and the second and fourth Tuesday a lighter meal is served following Bingo, donations accepted to help with the cost. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call 812-354- 8727. Free Clothing Bank - Oak Grove Church in Oakland City offers a free clothing bank each Tuesday 9 -11 a.m. (Oakland City time) for everyone. They carry new and used clothing. Location is on Morton Street, just past Chuckles. Come to the gymnasium door located at the back of the church. Women's Cancer Support Group- The Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Cen- ter offers a support group for women who have had cancer of any type or are currently undergoing cancer treatment. Sessions are the third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center Conference Room, located at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Cen- ter's Dorbett Street entrance. Jefferson Township Community Center of Otwell - will have its monthly meetings the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. All members are urged to attend. Getting Ready for Baby Brother or Sister- In Jasper – The "Getting Ready for Baby Brother or Sis- ter" class is offered by Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center to help older brothers and sisters prepare for the arrival of a new baby. The next class will be on Wednesday, September 12 from 6 -7 p.m. in Memori- al Hospital's Mary Potter Meeting Room at 800 West 9th Street, Jasper. The class is intended for children over the age of four and includes a tour of the nursery and demonstra- tions in infant holding, burping, feeding, and chang- ing a diaper. Children are asked to bring a doll or ted- dy bear and a blanket to practice the skills. Parents are asked to attend this class along with their children. This class is free for the children of those who are delivering at Memorial Hospital or $10. Pre-registra- tion is necessary. As a special feature of the ban- quet, an award was present- ed to retiring Arc of Pike County Board Member Bob Price. Recently retired from the board, Bob had vol- unteered his service to the board from 1982 to 2018. Bob received an award com- memorating his 36 years of service. The award was pre- sented by Stan Keepes, ex- ecutive director of The Arcs of Pike and Gibson Coun- ties, Dan Cockrum, retired executive director of The Arcs of Pike and Gibson counties and Brian Drogich, director of The Arc of Pike County. In addition to the special presentation for Bob Price, awards were presented to persons in recognition of their achievements and staff Arc of Pike County hosts annual banquet The William H.
