Don and Christina Priest, Senior Pastors John and Julie Marron, Youth Pastors Melissa Bowens, Reporter saw the holy city, new Jeru- salem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, 'Be- hold, the tabernacle of God is with men and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sor- row, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.' And he said unto me, 'It is done. I am Alpha and Ome- ga, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the foun- tain of the water of life free- ly. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.'" The reason God sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sins is so none should perish and go to hell but that all may live eternal- ly with him. Welcome to our services. Read II Corinthians 1:3-7. "We can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God" (II Corinthians 1:4). All around us there are people in need, and some- times we have to set aside our own feelings and agen- das to help them. How easy it is to be engrossed in our own concerns and forget that someone right next to us might need a prayer, a word of comfort, a hug, a gift of mercy in Jesus' name. Comfort received should be comfort shared. Everyone welcome. They are not perfect peo- ple, they have flaws in their lives, but they are definite- ly not like they were with- out Jesus. They have open arms and loving hearts to accept you just as you are. It is the Lord's work to begin the change in you. The Word of God is min- istered, not some false fa- bles or fairy tales but the truth of what God's Word says, but not watered down just to make you feel good. It will get you to thinking and change begins to occur. We will welcome you just as you are for we were there once and only God could have made the change that came into our lives. We love everyone because Jesus loved us enough in our mis- erable state to die for us. And He died for you. Come visit us, our doors are always open to you. A shepherd's role While traveling in Iran, writer Eric Bishop asked a villager about an earthen enclosure topped with dry thorns. The man said sheep stayed in the round space at night for safety. "What are the thorns for? " Bishop asked? If a wolf tries to break in and attack the sheep," the man replied, "he'll knock against the thorns, and they'll make a noise, and the shepherd will wake up and drive off the wolf." Pointing out the enclo- sure's doorless entrance, Bishop asked why a wolf wouldn't just enter there. Because, replied the villag- er, "that's where the shep- herd sleeps; the shepherd is the door." Suddenly Bishop under- stood why in John 10 Jesus calls himself first the door, or gate, for the sheep and then the Good Shepherd. Be- cause Jesus is the shepherd, he's also the door that keeps us, his sheep, safe within his care. Office hours: 9 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday. A mother's love is forev- er strong, never changing for all time...and when her children need her most, a mother's love will shine. God bless these special mothers, God bless them every one...for all the tears and heartache, and for the special work they've done. When her days on earth are over, a mother's love lives on...through many generations, with God's blessings on each one. Be thankful for our moth- ers, for they love with a higher love...from the pow- er God has given, and the strength from up above. Happy Mother's Day. We invite all of you to come and worship with us.
