Betty was born on August 20, 1965, to the late Clarence and Louise Green in Princeton, Indiana. Betty loved cooking and taking care of her children. She loved everyone and was an aunt to many. She was a long-time member of Mt. Ol- ive General Baptist Church. Betty is survived by her husband, Brad Norrick; daughter, Amanda Marger- ison (Daniel); son, Dean Nor- rick; daughter, Kelsie Nor- rick; daughter, Kim Stanton (Shawn); stepson, Greg Nor- rick (Heather); brother, Paul Green; sister, Mary Knight Green; ex-husband and long- time friend, Ronald Norrick; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Louise (Beck) Green; and brother, Bill Green. Visitation for Betty will be on Friday, January 20, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel. "Geri" Har- din, age 81 of Otwell, Indiana, passed away at 9:01 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana. Geri was born in Otwell, Indiana on October 14, 1941 to Delmer and Frances (Bea- dles) Pride. She married Clement Hardin on July 1, 1961 in Mt. Olive Church in Pike County. She was a homemaker and worked in the health care in- dustry for most of her life. She attended Shiloh Church of Jasper, and was a member of the Red Hat Club. She enjoyed shopping, gar- dening, and spending time with friends and family. Surviving is her husband, Clement J. Hardin of Otwell, one son, Anthony J. Hardin (Monica Richter), Schaum- burg, IL, one brother, Denzil Pride, Florida, and nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, and one brother, Dewight Pride. A funeral service for Ger- aldine F. "Geri" Hardin was 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Janu- ary 17, 2023, at the Bech- er-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, with burial following in the Otwell Cem- etery. Pastor Dan Sinkhorn officiated. A visitation was from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan- uary 16, 2023 at the Bech- er-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Perry, 97, of Petersburg, passed away sur- rounded by her family on Jan- uary 9, 2023 in Jasper, IN. She was born July 20, 1925 to Wil- liam and Sally (Selby) Wheat- ley in Washington, IN. She attended and graduated from Monroe City High School and worked for 25 years for Tri Cap in Petersburg. She faith- fully attended the Petersburg Free Methodist Church. Lorrayne is survived by her sons, Dennis (Phyllis) Whitehead and Neil (Laura) Whitehead; daughters, Mar- cia Gideon, Oraletta (David) Earles, and Kim (Chris) Catt; 19 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and 21 great- great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1994, Oral Whitehead; second hus- band in 2005, Vance Perry; her parents; son, Larry White- head; and her daughter, Nel- da Davis. Services for Lorrayne were held on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN, with buri- al at Walnut Hills Cemetery. Harris Funeral Home was en- trusted with care. MARTHA JANE ARNOLD Martha Jane Arnold, 86, of Petersburg, passed away Janu- ary 14, 2023, at Amber Manor Care Center, in Petersburg. Jane was born September 15, 1936 to John Wesley and Eva Mae (Potts) Ice, in Ha- zelton. She graduated from Mt. Olympus High School in 1953. She spent much of her life as a homemaker but also served as a caregiver in home healthcare and ran the Al- giers grocery store. She was a faithful member of the Algiers Mission Church. Her favorite hobbies included quilting, gar- dening, and cooking. She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Brenda) Arnold, of Otwell and Gary Arnold, of Petersburg; daughter, Joy (Michael) Beasley, of Paris, Ill.; grandchildren, Amy Ar- nold, Jeremy Arnold, Todd Arnold, Dawn Busic, Joy Wil- son, Hannah Fougnies, Katie Wynn, Josiah Arnold, and Mi- cala Beasley; 15 great-grand- children; sister, Betty Cain; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Junior Arnold; her parents; brothers, Jim Ice and Delbert Ice; and sisters, Ruth Tolbert and Mar- gie Shouse. Services will be at 11 a.m. EST on Thursday, January 19, at Harris Funeral Home, in Petersburg, with her son, Pastor Gary Arnold officiat- ing. Burial will follow at Ar- nold Cemetery, in Petersburg. R AY LEON POWELL Ray Leon "Bud" Powell, 86, of Winslow, Indiana entered into rest on Thursday, Janu- ary 12, 2023, at his home sur- rounded by his loving family. Ray was born in Otwell, In- diana on November 8, 1936, to the late Daniel and Anna Powell. He was an Otwell High School graduate. Follow- ing High School, he served in the United States Army. Ray worked as a mechanic most of his life but was also a coal miner and member of the UMWA. He enjoyed being outdoors, watching NASCAR, IU Basketball, spending time with his dog Gunnar, visiting with family, and watching his grandkids grow. He had strong faith and was a life- time member and elder of the Winslow Christian Church. Ray is survived by his lov- ing wife of 64 years, Darlene; and sister, Katherine Bur- khart. Ray and Darlene had three children together, Kel- ly McCandless, Keith (Kathy) Powell, and Steve ( Julie) Pow- ell. They had seven grand- children, Ashley McDowell, Casey ( Jason) Breeding, April Glass, Courtney Pow- ell, Jordan (Ashley) Powell, Tiffany ( Josh) Hornor, Austin (Bailey) Ashby; and they had 14 great grandchildren. Ray is proceeded in death by his parents Daniel and Anna (Britton) Powell; two brothers, Bill and Kenneth Powell; and granddaughter, Courtney Powell. Visitation for Ray will be held on Monday, January 16th, 2023, from 10 A.M.-2 P.M. Eastern time at the Winslow Christian Church with funeral service at 2 P.M. and Doctor Robert Asa officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Ceme- tery in Winslow, Indiana. Mil- itary Honors will be provided by Retired Military Veterans. McKin- ney, 72, of Otwell, passed away January 9, 2023 in Pe- tersburg, IN. He was born March 21, 1950 to William Russell and Lillie May (Mill- er) McKinney in Vincennes, IN. Bill graduated from Winslow High School and went on to join the United States Navy. He worked for many years as a heavy equip- ment operator for KU Utilities in Kentucky and Solar Sourc- es Coal Mine. Bill is survived by his sons, Jason "JK" (Holly) McKinney and Chris ( Jamie) McKinney; grandchildren, Emma McKin- ney, Celena Pretorius, Desti- nee McKinney, Chaney McK- inney, and Cobey McKinney; great grandchild, Dexter Con- rad; and sister, Sheila Julian. He is preceded in death by his son in 1985, BJ McKinney and his parents. In accordance with Bill's wishes, he will be cremated. Love always, Shelley, Christy & Jeanette. A ARON EUGENE MASON Aaron Eugene Mason, 40, formerly of Spurgeon, passed away on January 15, 2023, in Knox County. He was born September 8, 1982, in Huntingburg, to Susie (Oakman) Miley and Dale E. Mason. He attended Pike Central High School and was Presi- dent of the Union at Farbest. He loved to spend time out- doors with his kids, 4-wheel- er riding, fishing and arrow head hunting. You could always count on him to be coming out of the woods in the spring with a bag full of Morel mushrooms. He is survived by his four children, Daley, Madeline, Kennedy and Clint Eugene Mason whom he loved with all his heart; his Mom and Pops, Susie and Bryan Miley; sister, Ashley ( Jarrod) Gideon and nieces, Kady and Karly Gide- on, all of Petersburg; his girl- friend, Brandi McGauley and her daughter, Aleecia, both of Knox County; the mother of his children, Ferran Mason; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is proceeded in death by his father, Dale E. Mason; maternal grandparents, Don and Emma McDaniel; pater- nal grandparents, Edith and Arville Rainey and Eugene Mason; along with several uncles and cousins.
