Winslow Patoka River has water but I don't know how much, but we have had no rain, to speak of, and the drizzle the other day doesn't count in inches. Our temps have been cold in the 40s to the low 50s for 3 days, night temps were in the high 20s to the 30s. The sun was bright a couple of days but the could along with the slight winds stayed around longer. The blue jays and robins are seen in the yard when the ground was covered in dew and the win- dows frosted up. There was anoth- er animals work I forgot to tell you all about. Norm and I were out on a cruise when I looked into he woods and saw a tree standing but at the bottom I saw the cut marks, that a beaver made. I was surprised to see this site, it's my first, WOW! The Winslow Quik Pik will be losing one of the employees as he will leave for New Jer- sey to help his sister at her store. His guitar learning is going well, that a string broke and he had to replace it and then tune the guitar, he loves to play and learn. We will miss him. Have you ever wondered "what to fix for supper" and end up experimenting with left- overs and spices or a one dish meal that will go on our new dish recipe, they have been quite tasty. We are happy to know that the Scott Arnold family is back in Pike County! Welcome back Scott, Maddie, and Little Lucy. Granddaughter Grace talked to me the oth- er day with words of "I good girl" and some words I didn't understand, but that's okay because the smile and laughter and yes, the crying is all worthwhile. It was also nice to see the girls (mom and Grace) asleep in the rocker, if only for a few minutes. This past week wasn't too active in this area so the lights will soon dim for this week. Please keep an eye on family and friends, slow down and enjoy your neck of the woods, wear that mask inside crowded areas and distance. Then always smile, wave, and say Hi to every- one you see this week. AREA HAPPENINGS Celebrate Recovery – Will meet ev- ery Monday at 6 p.m. at the River of Life Church, 342 E. CR 300 N., Petersburg.
