Lady Chargers Brai- ley Mills, Anna Whitehead, Liberty Taylor and Kahle Young each scored in the first and Kahle Young scored eight of her game-high 16 points in the second. The girls trailed 39 -17 going into the locker room at the half. Young had made it a 22-11 ball game early in the second quarter but the eight point deficit at the end of the first quarter was the closest for the rest of the contest. Pike Central Lady Charger Kahle Young sparked the of- fense with 16 points via a pair of threes, three baskets and four of four from the line, scoring in all four quarters. The North Posey defense went with a full court press most of the opening minutes and in the second half they relied on the three pointer for nine of 13 third quarter markers. The visitors had 10 players get on the board, with three scoring in double figures. Brailey Mills accounted for seven points, Tiffany Ar- tega had one three pointer, Anna Whitehead and Liberty Taylor hit a basket each and Kennedy Willis tossed in a free throw. The Lady Chargers net- ted seven of 17 from the line while North Posey swished 13 of 15, most in their 22-point second quarter. Scoring for the Lady Vi- kings came down to guard play with forwards account- ing for just 16 of the team's 66 points. Ten Lady Vikings got in the scoring column with three in double figures. Pike Central Lady Char- ger coach Trey Wornica said, "The North Posey Viking girls played hard on Lady Charger senior night. Noth- ing really went our way. So, on to the next one." The Princeton Lady Ti- gers are up next for the Lady Chargers beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday at Princeton. The girls then travel to Te- cumseh on January 24 for an- other 8 p.m. Pocket Athletic Conference face-off. Princeton is 11-7 overall and 4-4 in the Pocket Athlet- ic Conference with wins over Mt. Vernon, Tell City, Wash- ington and Boonville. PAC losses include South Spencer, Southridge, Gibson Southern and Forest Park. Five of their wins were by four points or less. Tecumseh has a 5 -12 record with two wins in the PAC. Earlier in the season they edged North Posey 48 - 45 and racked up a 66 -17 win over Mt. Vernon. The Lady Chargers have a 4-16 overall season record with a 1-9 PAC record. JUNIOR VARSITY The junior varsity lost 51- 20 with a poor first quarter, outscoring the Lady Vikings 10 -7 in the second and go- ing 9 -11 in the third. North Posey held the Lady Char- gers scoreless in the fourth quarter points to bump their advantage to 51-20. Taryn Fiscus and Tiffany Artega each had nine mark- ers. Fiscus netted four bas- kets and one free throw and Artega marked up a trio of shots from beyond the arc. Akiayai Scraper was the oth- er Lady Charger scorer with a basket in the first quarter.
