Pair charged with criminal trespass and mischief By James Capozella Press-Dispatch News news@pressdispatch.net A report of an assault at Otwell Cir- cle A led to the arrest of a man and woman on charges of criminal tres- pass and criminal mischief on Sunday, January 8. Carrie Martin, 32 and Jeremiah Ow- ens, 25, were arrested by Pike County Deputy Bryce Manning after an inves- tigation into the assault report and ad- ditional issues of storage unit damage and a broken window at the Ricky Her- ron residence at 2132N Pike St. Carrie Martin told deputy Manning that Herron had broken into their (Martin and Owens) storage unit sev- eral times. Martin told deputy Man- ning that she was at Herron's house and had gotten choked by him and that she hit Herron in the face. Deputy Manning found no marks on Martin. Herron reported Martin start- ed hitting him while he was trying to get the key in the lock at his home. He told Manning she had punched his nose and had hit him six or sev- en times. Herron asked to have EMS check him out. Deputy Manning examined paper work that indicated that Martin and Owens were handing the key and unit to Herron on December 15. Herron had paperwork showing he had paid for the storage unit on January 6. Ow- ens said he did not cut the lock on the storage unit but then later said he had cut the bracket. Herron told Manning that Owens had broken a window he was pound- ing on at his home. Owens told Deputy Manning it was already broken and he was not knocking very hard, trying to find out if there was a lock on the stor- age unit. The voluntary statement Ow- ens wrote and the December 15 letter indicating the unit was passing to Her- ron had identical signatures, according to deputy Manning's report.
