DANNY JO OAKLEY Danny Jo Oakley, 62, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at home. He was born April 12, 1959, in Evansville, to Clarence Parker Oakley and Margaret (Caudill) Oakley. He graduated from Cen- tral High School in 1977. He worked for Four Star Fabrica- tors in Petersburg for 39 years as a purchaser, estimator and vice-president. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Donna (Levi) Oakley; daughter, Janice Esar- ey (Eric); sisters, Linda Lynn and Marilyn Oakley; brothers, John Oakley (Bette) and Tom- my Oakley; four grandchil- dren; and many nieces, neph- ews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Margaret Oakley; and broth- ers, Dennis Smith and Gerald Oakley. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel in Evansville, with Pastor Gary Meredith officiating. Burial followed in Lutheran Cemetery. She was a loving wife, moth- er, grandma and sister. When her children were young, it was usual for women to stay home with the children while their husbands worked. But even by the standards of the era, she was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family by pro- viding love and nurturing care. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. Attending church and praising God for all of his wonderful gifts was also ex- tremely important to her. She was a long-time member of the Hephzibah Littles Church in Petersburg. She is survived by her lov- ing husband, Thomas Nalley; her son, Tony Nalley (Kev- in Chang); daughter, Pame- la (Mark) Glover; son, Ryan (Nikki) Nalley; her grand- children, Ethen Smith, Bry- ant Nalley and J.T. Nalley; and her siblings, Mary (Don) Pate, Cindy (Gene) Nivens, Char- lotte ( Joe) Dedman, Wayne Cook (Pat), Darrell (Mar- quette) Cook and Gary (To- ni) Cook. DONALD JEFFERY EDRINGTON Donald Jeffery Edrington, 62, of Denver, Colo., formerly of Oakland City, passed away July 20, 2021, in Scottsdale, Ariz., where he was receiving treatment for bone cancer. He was born August 21, 1958, at Ft. Rucker, Ala., to Donald and Carolyn Edrington. He was a graduate of Wood Memorial High School Class of 1976, Vincennes University and Illinois State College. He was employed by Lucent Tech- nologies in Denver as a com- puter technology systems spe- cialist. He battled cancer with strength and courage as he and his wife, Pam, looked to God for their faith and strength as they knew God was with them each step of the journey. He loved life to the fullest and loved to laugh, always looking for the good and pos- itive in others. He loved play- ing sports, was a multi-sport athlete in baseball, football and basketball. He also loved music and playing the trum- pet in the marching band. He loved to travel and going up to the Rocky Mountains to hike and snowboard/ski. He is survived by his loving wife, Pam; three stepchildren; three step-grandchildren; three biological children; and seven grandchildren; brother, Dean Allen; father and moth- er, Donald and Carolyn; and two nieces. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the Oakland City Nazarene Church, with Rev. Darin Nossett officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Sat- urday at the church. LINDA LOUISE PIERINI Linda Louise Pierini, 67, of Winslow, passed away at 12:40 p.m. on Sunday, August 8, 2021. She was born in Fall River, Mass., on September 27, 1953, to Joseph Edward and Betty Louise Belmore. She was a 1972 graduate of Terra Nova High School in Linda Mar, Calif., and lived in that area for 60 years, before moving to Winslow in 2014 to be near family. She retired after 35 years of Federal Service for U.S. Park Police on the Presidio of San Francisco, Calif. She enjoyed movies, cook- ing, gardening, dogs and spending time with her fam- ily, especially her daughter and nephews. She never met a stranger, and was so giving and kind. She was loved by all. Surviving are her two chil- dren, daughter, Christina Pier- ini, of Winslow, and son, Jason Pierini, of San Mateo, Calif.; one grandchild; two broth- ers, Joseph (Mary Ann) Bel- more, of Dunmore, Pa., and Scott (Sarah) Belmore, of Winslow; two nephews, Nich- olas ( Jenn) Belmore, of Pitts- burg, Calif., and Joseph Bel- more, of Winslow. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Edward Belmore; and mother, Betty Louise Belmore. BONNIE "JO" WESTERN Bonnie "Jo" Western, 96, of Union, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021, at Amber Manor in Petersburg. She was born July 26, 1925, to Opal and Jesse Campbell. She is survived by her son, Mike ( Janet) Western; daughter-in-law, Pat West- ern; son-in-law, Howard Knight; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frosty West- ern; her son, Danny J. West- ern; her daughter, Pamela Western Knight; sisters, Gen- evieve Wyatt and Olive Leon- ard; and a brother, Jesse "Bud" Campbell. "Debbie" Stanczak, 67, of Petersburg, went into eternal rest on Sun- day, Aug. 1, 2021, while sur- rounded by her loving family. She was born in Toronto, Canada, on Aug. 23, 1953, to the late Melbourne Williams and Elsie Bailey Williams. She married John R. Stanczak on Aug. 18, 1973, and they spent 51 years in love. She was employed by Vin- cennes University for over 21 years as the director of the Center for Teaching and Learning. She graduat- ed from Indiana University with a master's degree. She looked forward to trips to Dis- ney and loved all animals (es- pecially her chickens, ducks and geese). She was a child of God, loved her family with all her heart, was an avid reader, loved knitting, cooking, gar- dening and, of course, shop- ping. In her younger years, she was quite the horsewoman. She spent a great amount of time with her horses and espe- cially her appaloosa. She com- peted in many horse shows and won Miss Appaloosa USA 1969 and Miss California Ap- paloosa State Queen 1970. She is survived by her loving husband, John R. Stanczak; adoring children, Shanni ( Jay) Simmons, Justin ( Julie) Stanczak, Elsa (Ali) Benamar and Chris (Tamara) Beavers; nine grandchildren; siblings, Ann Dalke, Melbourne "Son- ny" Williams and Clint Wil- liams; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Jackie Hamm. Private graveside services were on Thursday, August 5, 2021. JEFFREY JOHN JACKSON Jeffrey John Jackson, 63, of Vincennes, went to be with our Lord on August 10, 2021, while working in his fields to provide for his family. He was born May 17, 1958, to John and Patricia Jackson, of Vincennes. He was a lifetime man of God, who lead his family and his church, The Monroe City First Church of God, to walk closer to God each day. He was a 38 -year volunteer firefight- er for the Palmyra Township and licensed first responder. He enjoyed driving around in his Jeep, water skiing, help- ing out with the Wednesday night kids' program, and hav- ing lunch with friends, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, attending his grandkids sporting events and school activities, and watching them grow in their faith and in all areas of life. He is survived by his lov- ing wife, Deena ( Willis) Jack- son, who he married on Febru- ary 4, 1984; Josh (Kylie) Jack- son, of Vincennes; daughter, Jayme (Cody) Lane, of Vin- cennes; seven grandchildren; parents, John and Patricia Jackson, of Vincennes, father- in-law, Jack Willis, of Peters- burg; mother-in-law, Charlene Draper, of Vincennes; sister, Susan (Mark) Schutz, of Vin- cennes; brother, Robert ( Vic- ki) Jackson, of Tallahassee, Fla.; a nephew; and many oth- er beloved family members and friends. JOE EDD FR ANCE Joe Edd France, 85, passed away Friday, August 7, 2021, at his home in Oakland City. He was born March 26, 1936, to the late Lowell and Fern (Bass) France, at their home in Somerville. He worked for Solar Sourc- es as the head of safety and for Whirlpool as a union stew- ard. He was a member of the American Legion for 63 years, where he served as Command- er for a few terms and a mem- ber of the Color Guard. He was also a member of the Eagles and enjoyed spending time with his friends there. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Petersburg as well. He is survived by his chil- dren, Sheri (Tom) Sullivan, of Oakland City, Teri France, of Boonville, Jeff (Kristi) France, of Boonville, Brian (Dana) France, of Boonville, Sandy (Steve) Drew, of Winslow, and William ( Joy) Hartley, of Evansville; brother, James France, of Garden Grove, Ca- lif.; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and ma- ny nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Fern France; daughter, Julie Rutledge; grandson, Matthew France; sisters, Ada Hart and Aileen Tyring; brothers, Jer- ry Doan, Dewayne France and Gene France; an infant broth- er, Jackie France; and his first four wives, Bonnie Beat- ty, Donna McCoy, Susan Hart- ley Smith and Rita Coleman. RUTH ELLEN WHITE-HOEFLING Ruth Ellen White-Hoefling, 74, of Patoka, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at The Waters of Princeton. She was born July 25, 1947, to the late Henry E. Cox and Lela Kathleen (Miley) Cox, in Pike County. She had lived in Patoka most of her life. She worked in sales at Tulip Tree Fashions in Princeton for 10 years and also worked as a CNA. She was a clerk at Bar- gains Unlimited and a teach- er's aide at Building Blocks Daycare and Preschool. She was a member of the Patoka Presbyterian Church, Patoka Order of Eastern Star and for- mer member of the Business and Professional Women's Club. She helped her first hus- band, John White, who was the Gibson County Fair Board secretary, at the Fair Board of- fice for many years. She will be missed by many. She is survived by her daughter, Stacy Allen, of Princeton; son, John Dale "J.D." ( Jenny) White, Jr., of Pa- toka; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Earl Cox; and sisters, Wilma Loann Blaize, of Owensville, and Carolyn Abell, of Sumner, Ill. DOYNE FR ANKLIN FORD Doyne Franklin Ford, 88, of Princeton, entered rest Tues- day, August 10, 2021, at Dea- coness Midtown Hospital. He was born on December 10, 1932, in Princeton, to Glen and Catherine (Key) Ford. He was in the U.S. Army and once he was discharged, he ran his own farm. He spent his life mak- ing his wife happy, playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, pid- dling around outside, and helping out the family when- ever he was needed. He was truly the family's rock. On any given day, you could find him and his wife at sporting events or school programs for grands and great-grands. They loved JOYCE SHAFER Joyce Shafer, 67, passed away Monday, August 16, 2021, at her home in Camp- belltown. She was born on February 15, 1954, in Washington, to Harold and Dorothy Forester. She retired from Kimball Electronics. She is survived by her hus- band, Kenneth Shafer; sons, Owen Hawkins and Jason Sha- fer; daughter, Lisa King; broth- ers, Joe and Roger White; and sister, Diane Dunn.
