Newton Street (U.S. 231), Jasper, is having Free Admission night, Thursday, Aug. 19 at the museum. The museum will be open in the evening from 5:30 -8 p.m. This is all part of our Third Thursday promotion. The exhibit team has been hard at work on a new perma- nent exhibit called, "Earth's Bounty." The work is pulling together many pieces of the museum's collection on the many forms of Natural Resources found in Dubois Coun- ty. Night of Praise slated for Friday A Night of Praise to raise money for First Choice Solu- tions is set for 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 20 at the Prov- idence Mennonite Church, 4738 U.S. Highway 50, Mont- gomery. First Choice Solutions was formerly named the Preg- nancy Care Center. Yolonda Taylor, executive director of the FCS, will give an update on the clinic, which will be followed by the Prov- idence Mennonite worship band performing. Doors will open at 6 p.m. A freewill offering will be taken to bene- fit FCS. Upper Patoka River Conservancy meeting is Sept. 9 The Upper Patoka River Conservancy District will meet at 7 p.m. on September 9, 2021, for a hearing on their pro- posed budget for 2022. They will meet at 7 p.m. on Septem- ber 23 for the purpose of adopting a budget for 2022. Both meetings will be in the Dubois Courthouse Annex in Jas- per and are open to the public. Dr. Leibe is a gener- al surgeon who will be joining Marcus Kurucz, M.D., Megan Stevenson, M.D., and Charles Tollett, Jr., M.D. at Memorial Surgical Associates. Dr. Leibe received her doc- tor of osteopathic medicine and masters of public health degrees at Touro Universi- ty in Vallejo, California. She completed a general surgery residency at St. Anthony Hos- pital in Lakewood, Colora- do. Dr. Leibe is a member of the American College of Sur- geons and is certified in Da- Vinci robotic surgery. Dr. Joanne Leibe School in session New Winslow Elemen- tary School Principal Aaron Meyer was greet- ed on his first day last week by Abby and Izzy Tyring, and Gwen Stin- son. As they went in the school Wednesday morning, the girls gave him a card and a brace- let they made for him. Schools in Pike County opened on Wednesday.
