C-2 Church Wednesday, Februar y 5, 2020 The Press-Dispatch Continued from page 1 Continued on page 3 Continued in next column Continued in next column "Whoever said dia- monds are a girl's best friend never had a Beagle" (Anonymous). This week, PAWS is fea- turing a lively young Bea- gle named EJ, who was ex- cited to have the attention of shelter volunteer Chloe Williams, who came in to walk dogs this past Sun- day. EJ is very people-ori- ented, but does have some difficulty getting along with certain other dogs. He seems to do well with cats. Beagles are natu- ral investigators and EJ is no exception to this. He is tri-colored black, brown and white, and is approx- imately one year old, has all his shots, is neutered and heartworm negative. To adopt this dog of great dash, call 812-354-9894. Sometimes when I sit down to write these, I have no idea what I am going to write. These aren't pro- found and planned, they are a weekly prayer, Lord, give me the words to write. It so happens this morning, as I'm drinking coffee, prepar- ing for the day, I read these words; "God is already at work ahead of where He has called you." How many of you needed to read that as well as I did? Some of you might be like me, hesitant to strike conversation, offer to lend a hand, or would simply rather wait for the big sign. I believe often times, before we have a chance to expe- rience that sure sign, God has already been at work in those people. God calls us VINCENT CHRISTIAN CHURCH 8264 E. Chances are, God has al- ready began a work in their lives and hearts. Reflect on this story in Acts 16:6 -10 : God was already working in Macedonia, it was on Paul to answer. "Holiness in the Bible breathes in the prophecy, thunders in the law, mur- murs in the narrative, whis- pers in the promises, suppli- cates in the prayers, spar- kles in the poetry, resounds in the songs, speaks in the types, glows in the imagery, and burns in the spirit of the whole Bible scheme. Holi- ness needed. Holiness re- quired. Holiness offered. Ho- liness attainable. Holiness is a present duty, a present privilege, a present enjoy- ment. It is the truth glowing all over.
