We heard it said time and time again, the believer's walk is a faith walk. The re- ality is we completely trust a God we cannot physical- ly see, but we obey Him be- cause we know He has our best interests in mind. We know that following Him is the best thing we can do de- spite the circumstances we may encounter. There is no good alternative to ignoring the will of God. "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spir- it" (Romans 15:13). In order for a tree or any plant to grow and bear fruit, its seed must first be plant- ed in the ground and die. In order for spiritual fruit to appear in our lives, we must first be planted into the Word of God and then die to self. In the face of chasten- ing, adversity, discipline and affliction, God's Word nour- ishes our lives and fruit be- gins to appear. But it doesn't happen overnight. It takes time and patience. Joseph would never have been of use to God had he not been sold into slavery by brothers who hated him, and then wrongly accused by Potiphar, who put him in prison. Even after he had told Potiphar's cup bearer he would be restored to the king's court and asked him to tell Pharaoh of his unjust imprisonment, Joseph had to wait two more years for re- lease from prison. If at any time you have no church to attend, feel free to join us for services. Your presence will be greatly ap- preciated and I am sure you will receive God's blessings. Whats right vs. Peace "When a man's ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him." (Proverbs 16:7, NIV ). This verse tells us that when we do things that please the Lord, not only will we have peace in what we have done, but also our enemies will be at peace with us. We all know that in this world it is hard to do things we know are right, or things that are pleasing in the sight of God. Sometimes being the better person is the hardest thing to do in one's day, or life for that matter. But as Christians, if we can hold tight to God and GOSPEL CENTER CHURCH Independent Baptist Church 420 E. UNBELIEF Unbelief is dangerous. Christ speaks of unbelief as a sin. He says of the Holy Spir- it that "he will convince the world of sin, because they believed not on me" ( John 16:8 -9). Men may call it a hard doc- trine, but there it is. "He that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God" ( John 3:18). Is there any- thing hard in that? The offer of salvation is made to every- one. It is so plain that there can be no mistake about it. If there had been any other way, any other Savior, men might plead uncertainty. But they are plainly told, "neither is there salvation in any oth- er" (Acts 4:12). UNION COMMUNITY CHURCH 3082 N. "I have no greater joy than this, to hear that my [spiritu- al] children are living their lives in the Truth" (III John 1:4). What does it mean to liv- ing or walking in Truth? When you read and hear the Word of God you apply it to your life. Example: When I read Hebrews 10 :25, I had to find a church to be with oth- er believers.
