Age: 34 Clinic Director Superior Health Solutions F going with the drugs-and-surgery route,��� said DeMartino, who is the only doctor in Nevada to practice in the area of quantum neurology, a collection of techniques that evaluate and restore every major nerve in the body, allowing the body to better heal itself. ���It was a two-year staffing process but we opened Superior Health Solutions last August and now have eight employees.��� DeMartino, who is active with numerous professional organizations and is also a member of the nonprofit Foundation for Wellness Professionals, takes a three-tiered approach to patient care that includes physical medicine, functional medicine and neurological rehabilitation. Superior Health Solutions treats multiple ailments but focuses on diseases and symptoms many patients and their physicians consider hopeless, such as fibromyalgia, neuropathy and restless leg syndrome. ���D.B. rom the age of 10 until he was 14, Robert DeMartino, suffered from debilitating migraines that baffled every specialist his parents took him to in his native New York. Finally ��� on one of his rare headachefree days ��� he injured his back playing basketball, and visited a chiropractor, whose holistic approach essentially cured DeMartino���s migraines, as well as his sports injury, and also inspired his career path. With other local attorneys, he���s also worked with the Nevada Supreme Court to formalize and broaden a pro bono program for pending civil appeals, on behalf of those who can���t afford attorneys. His pro bono work hasn���t stopped there. Through Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, he���s spent the last year helping approximately seven foster care system kids, taken from parents facing abuse and neglect allegations. ���They���re given a voice,��� he said. ���Our job to advocate what their desires are and to make sure that they���re heard.��� On the health care front, he also sees the need to give doctors a hand, particularly in Las Vegas, where only a limited number of legal professionals can offer advice on the convoluted intersection of the civil, criminal and regulatory worlds. ���There is a need to grow a health care practice to address the ever-changing concerns, whether it be with ObamaCare or criminal prosecutions falling under the False Claims Act,��� he said. His advice has made a difference for doctors needing the proper coverage under an agreement with an insurance provider, accidentally purchasing counterfeit pharmaceuticals, or not realizing what can amount to a kickback. ���G.R.D. V anessa Reinhart knows how to handle the serious stuff and cut loose too. Boil down complicated human resource law so that employees can easily understand it, then follow that up with planning a memorable company event that also raises money for a local charity and you have a day���s work for Reinhart. The human resources pro started in the field after a short stint in radio and graduating with a communications degree from UNLV. She remembers seeing an HR classified ad that had a cus- tomer service ring to it. ���Whatever I do is secondary to my belief in customer service,��� she said. From 2004-���10, she was an HR consultant with Payroll Solutions, when one day one of her clients, Gatski Commercial Real Estate Services, asked her to work in house. Reinhart���s impact was immediately felt. Originally from Guatemala and growing up bilingual, she found ways to explain HR laws to employees with language barriers. ���You grow up knowing you���re different and realize that this is something that makes you special,��� she said. ���I���m a big advocate of education and for what���s right and wrong and building that structure for both managers and employees.��� Under her watch, Gatski earned a ���Best Places to Work��� honor from VEGAS INC. One of her favorite company events was the Zombie Apocalypse Community Blood Drive for Hurricane Sandy victims and ���Franksgiving,��� a Thanksgiving season employee feast that is actually a Mexican fiesta. At the event, employee food donations are matched by the company and then brought to the Three Square food bank.
