They have demonstrated a strong work ethic, and are the leaders of today as well as tomorrow. Just like in past years, we���ve found 40 people who���ve made Southern Nevada a better place to work and live. Some of them have overcome great obstacles to make a difference in the community, while others are driven to share their good fortune with the world. They all work tirelessly to make good things happen. In our annual ���40 Under 40��� special publication, we recognized 40 men and women from a variety of diverse backgrounds. And, they���ve all achieved it before turning the big 4-0. This section has certainly become one of our most exciting ones of the year. We launched the ���40 Under 40��� program 13 years ago to recognize young and successful business leaders who���ve distinguished themselves not only in their professions but also in the community. Check out page 5A for a list of all the previous honorees. As in the past, the nominations poured in again this year. We received nearly 275 submissions, which made for a grueling decision process. However, it only strengthened the results. We���d like to thank our readers for sending us a great selection of individuals ��� you certainly identified some dynamic and talented people. In choosing the honorees, we charged our judges to evaluate each candidate���s community service, entrepreneurial spirit and impact on their respective industry. A panel of judges made the selections over the course of about a week. Honorees couldn���t turn 40 before Jan. 1, 2013. This group of 40 people has achieved some great feats very early in their careers. Their strength and commitment to making the Las Vegas Valley a better place to live should be commended. They range from presidents and 1A CEOs to partners at law firms to physicians and college deans. Take the time to read about these young leaders and their amazing accomplishments. This distinguished group plays a crucial role in Southern Nevada���s business development vision, all in their own special way.
