Funeral services were at noon on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Burial followed at Hamline Chapel Cemetery. Charles Emrich Davies, Jr., 68, passed away Tues- day, April 24, 2018, at Oca- la Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Fla. He was born Aug. 8, 1949, in Owensboro, Ky., to Charles E. Davies, Sr. and the late Margaret (Stovall) Davies. He graduated in 1967 from Hancock County High School, Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1971, and earned his master's degree in fi- nance from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He served as the vice-president of the Winslow First Nation- al Bank, president of Davies Development, and Finance Manager at Smith Chevro- let in Oakland City. He also proudly served as the trea- surer for the Oakland City Golf Club. His greatest joy was his children and family. He is survived by a son, Charles (Chip) E. (Carrie) III, of Isle of Palms, S.C.; a daughter, Sarah, of Nash- ville, Tenn.; sisters, Emily ( Wayne) Boling, of Owens- boro, Krista, of Orlando, Fla., and Lynelle (Chuck) Blankenship, of Zellwood, Fla.; two grandchildren; one niece; and two nephews. A memorial service will be at a later date at Gibson Funeral Home in Hawes- ville, Ky. MORRIS E. WILLIS Morris E. Willis, 90, of Washington, went home to be with his Lord on April 30, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Home in Oakland City. He was born July 14, 1927, in Pike County, to Floyd Hunter Willis and Goldie Inez (Parker) Willis. He was educated in the Pike County school sys- tem. He married Mary Fay ( Wise) Willis, Nov. 2, 1947. He joined the Merchant Ma- rines during World War II. He was a farmer and raised Belted Galloway cattle. He was very active in missions and went on several mission trips. He was very passion- ate about sharing the gos- pel. Surviving are one broth- er, O.W. Willis, of Corydon; one sister, Lelah Pancake, of Marshall, Ill.; two sons, Da- vid (Karen) Willis, of Wash- ington, and Danny (Eva) Willis, of Scotland, Ind.; two daughters, Sharon Wright, of Overland Park, Kan., and Carla Fay Willis-Crase, of Columbus; and several grandchildren, step-grand- children and great-grand- children. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Faye; one son, Randy Wayne Willis; siblings, Inel, Marybelle Gray, Wesley and James Blessinger. The funeral service was Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 10 :30 a.m. at Gill Funeral Home in Washington, Ind., with Rev. Robert Thompson, Rev. James Myers, and Rev. Aaron Willis officiating. In- terment followed the service at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation was Friday, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 10 :30 a.m. at the funer- al home. Blaize, 83, of Pe- tersburg, died on April 25, 2018, at 7:08 a.m. at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vin- cennes. He was born on July 23, 1934, in Bowman, to Fred and Ida (Stewart) Blaize. He married his wife, Don- na, on June 12, 1955, and he was a retired service man for Vectren. He is survived by his wife, Donna, of Petersburg; daughters, Becky Barnard, of Washington, and Barba- ra Collins, Anita Poselwait and Paula Blaize, all of Pe- tersburg; brothers, Frank Blaize, of Colorado, John Blaize, of Florida, and Jim Blaize, of Petersburg; sis- ter, Mary Schatz, of Bick- nell; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2018, at Twin Oaks Church, with Pastor Robin Overby of- ficiating. Burial followed in Twin Oaks Cemetery. He was born May 28, 1961, in Huntingburg, to Kathy (Zink) Nelson and Gary Mathies, and married Janice Schroering on July 11, 1985, in Fort Worth, Tex- as. He attended Southridge High School with the Class of 1979, was a former paving contractor, enjoyed garden- ing and spending time with his grandchildren, was a car enthusiast and an avid Dal- las Cowboys fan. He is survived by his wife, Janice Nelson, of Peters- burg; two daughters, Ash- ley ( Jarod) Knepp, of Mont- gomery, and Beth Ann (Tor- rance) McClellan, of India- napolis; his father, Gary Mathies, of St. Anthony; his mother, Kathy Nelson, of Monroe City; two siblings, Jeff (Karlene) Nelson, of Otwell, and Kim (Rich) Padgett, of Jasper; and four grandchildren, Harper and Hudson Knepp, and Yasmin and Emory McClellan. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lindsey Nelson, who passed away in 2004; and grandparents, Roman and Evelyn Zink, and Bob and Louella Mathies. REBECCA S. NELSON Rebecca S. Nelson, 70, of Winslow, entered rest on Monday, April 30, 2018, at Deaconess Gateway Hospi- tal in Newburgh. She was born on July 4, 1947, in Bartholomew Coun- ty, Ind., to Earl Chester and Florence Viola (Brown) Wil- son. She had worked at the Pantry Store in Oakland City and Winslow for sever- al years. She is survived by her hus- band of 29 years, Steven Nel- son; daughters, Loretta Mc- Candless and Donna (Bryan) Townley, of Winslow, Gina (Daron) Mitchell, of Jasper, and Tamie ( Joey) Zink, of Oakland City; brother, James Wilson, of Dunnellon, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Wallace, Sr., 77, of Vincennes, passed away at the home of his daughter, in Petersburg, on April 29, 2018. Born January 17, 1941, in Vincennes, he was the son of Ralph Homer and Betsy Fay (Gerkin) Wallace. He worked at the Brown Shoe Factory and then be- came the manager of the Vincennes University Bowl- ing Lanes. He worked as an accountant for Custom Farm Services, McCormick Insur- ance and then McCormick Trucking. The treasurer for the Followers of Christ Church in Carlisle, Ind., he also prepared tax returns. He was a member of the Fol- lowers of Christ Church.
