Willis placed seventh with a time of 5:56.89, eclipsing her previ- ous mark of 5:58.95 set on April 21 at the Princeton Invitation- al. The school record in the eighth grade girls' 1,600-meter run is 5:58 set by Ab- by Hillyard in 2013. Submitted Phot season-best time of 2:27.87. Seventh grader Jack Teg- meyer and Gibson South- ern seventh grader Mac- ade Chandler tied for fifth in pole vault with leaps of 7 feet. Placing seventh in individ- ual events for the Chargers were eighth grader Gun- nar Earley in shot put with a throw of 33 feet, 7 inch- es, and seventh grader No- lan Nelson in the 400 -meter dash with a season-best time of 1:02.85. Ninth grader Dane Glad- ish finished ninth in the 1,600 -meter run with a time of 5:29.40 and 12th in the preliminaries for the 110 -meter hurdles with a time of 20.94 seconds. Finishing 10th in individ- ual events for the Chargers were eighth grader Samu- el Coleman in discus with a throw of 86 feet, 8 -1/2 inches; eighth grader Ev- an Conder in the 300 -meter hurdles with a season-best time of 51.85 seconds; Finishing 11th in an in- dividual event for the Char- gers was seventh grader Braden Howald in pole vault with a leap of 6 feet. Finishing 13th in an in- dividual event for the Char- gers was seventh grader Dallas Reutepohler in the 800 -meter run with a sea- son-best time of 2:43.38. Also finishing 15th in in- dividual events for the Char- gers were eighth grader Darian Herrera in the pre- liminaries for the 100 -me- ter dash with a time of 14.10 seconds; and seventh grad- er Landyn Perry in the pre- liminaries for the 200 -me- ter dash with a time of 30.21 seconds. In addition, the team of Peyton Howald, Nolan Nelson, Park and seventh grader Griffin Boyd placed third in the seventh grade 400 -meter relay with a time of 55.87 seconds; the team of Nolan Nelson, Parks, Shoul- tz and seventh grader Fenn- ton McCrary placed third in the 1,600 -meter relay with a time of 4:19.72; the team of Dane Gladish, Ruetepohler, Shoultz and eighth grader Devin Carlisle placed fourth in the 3,200 -meter relay with a time of 10 :25.86 seconds; and the team of Conder, Fra- sure, Herrera and McCrary placed eighth in the eighth grade 400 -meter relay with a time of 54.359 seconds – seven thousandths of a sec- ond behind seventh-place Gibson Southern's time of 54.352 seconds. As a team, Pike Central – the defending PAC champi- on – scored 81.5 points, trail- ing Tell City (124 points), Heritage Hills (101) and For- est Park (90). South Spen- cer (65) was fifth, followed by Gibson Southern (50.5), North Posey (50), South- ridge (45) and Tecumseh (16). "We placed about where we thought we would," Pike Central head coach Jere- my Howald said. "There are some pretty solid teams in the PAC. We just had too ma- ny holes this year to compete with them. But look out next year, though. We are bring- ing back a lot of talent." Finishing 12th in indi- vidual events for the La- dy Chargers were Faulk in the 300 -meter hurdles with a time of 59.79 seconds; eighth grader Kayla Gladish in shot put with a throw of 22 feet, 10 inches; and eighth grader Quinlan Teague in the 800 -meter run with a time of 3:01.25. Finishing 13th in individu- al events for the Lady Char- gers were Anderson in pre- liminaries for the 100 -meter hurdles with a time of 21.09 seconds; eighth grader Jaize Mills with a season-best time of 1:15.89; and seventh grader Lillian Thompson in the 800 -meter run with a time of 6:45.57. Finishing 17th in an in- dividual event for the Lady Chargers was Kreig in pre- liminaries for the 100 -me- ter dash with a time of 15.33 seconds. In addition, the team of Kreig, Kahle Young and sev- enth graders Sarah Siggers and Keena Young placed third in the seventh grade 400 -meter relay with a time of 1:00.38; the team of Sig- gers, Willis, eighth grad- er Kendall Radabaugh and sixth grader Anna White- head placed fourth in the 1,600 -meter relay with a sea- son-best time of 5:01.55; the team of Faulk, Radabaugh, Woodland and eighth grad- er Jade Kammon placed fifth in the eighth grade 400 -meter relay with a time of 58.79 seconds; and the team of Radabaugh, Teague, Thompson and Willis placed sixth in the 3,200 -meter re- lay with a season-best time of 12:06.76. As a team, Pike Central scored a total of 40 points, trailing Gibson Southern (104 points), Heritage Hills (96), Forest Park (72), Tell City (71), South Spencer (55) and Southridge (44).
