The Patoka River in Winslow was half full, but with 0.7 of rain on Sunday, the 11th it has fallen a bit. The rain was heavy with thunder that lasted about one hour with puddles and lakes in the yards. The mowers and weed eaters are heard, but we may not hear them in the coming week because we are not to have rain in a week or so. The humidity is down and some days it was chilly. Windows opened, but the air condi- tioner was also used when the temps got in the high 80s. Over this pas weekend, the 9 -11, you could see the harvest moon and it was bright. No farmer could use this moon for their harvest since the corn and beans are not ready as of yet. It is nice to see animals and we have seen our neigh- borhood, squirrel in the yard, chickens eating bugs and a hummingbird getting nectar from a people rose- of-Sharon. Flowers in many yards look colorful as they accent the items place near the blooms. Several days I have seen new stars drive slow in cars, golf carts, quad runners and mules. It is also enjoyable to see the children walk home from the bus stop as mom waits at the corner. Summer colds are awful when you have the sniffles, cough, slight headache and no energy. Norm fought through it and with electro- lytes, Gatorade and other meds he is a little better, No it wasn't a form of covid. I am trying to stay healthy if at all possible. Next week I'll tell you all the enjoyable day and night we all had.
