Malone, showing no signs of missing any action, imme- diately singled to score Fos- ter and knot the score at 8 -8, and on the play, the Huskies overthrew the ball to first af- ter Malone had crossed the bag. That allowed Bradyn Ep- person to race from second all the way to score the winning run, giving Gibson Southern a 9 -8 win. Gibson Southern had tak- en a 2-0 lead over Evansville North at the end of one inning, and neither team scored in the second frame. In the third inning, the Hus- ky bats came alive, pushing seven runs across home plate in the inning to take a 7-2 lead over the hosts, and in the top of the fourth, the visitors plat- ed another run to extend their lead, 8 -2. Gibson Southern put three runs across the plate in the bottom of the fourth inning to put the score at 8 -5, in fa- vor of the visitors. Both teams failed to score in the fifth or the sixth in- ning, and the Titan defense and pitching held the Hus- kies with a score in the top of the seventh to set up the dra- matic finish. Malone and Okes each banged out a pair of hits against the Huskies, while senior Levi Dickerson, Maur- er, senior Regan Farmer, and Parsons all had one hit each. Dickerson and Okes both tagged the Husky pitching staff for a double, while Fos- ter and Dickerson were hit by the pitcher. In addition to eight hits by the Titans, Hurless walked four times, Malone twice, Dickerson once, and Foster once. Okes had three runs batted in (RBIs) for Gibson South- ern, while Parson had his two crucial RBIs in the bottom of the seventh, and Dickerson al- so had a pair of RBIs. Malone had one RBI, the one that tied the game, and creating the one that won the event. Junior Garrett Reid took over on the mound for the Ti- tans in the third inning and allowed just one run over the final five frames of baseball, taking the win. "We were down to our last out," said May, as he replayed the final inning of the encoun- ter, "and Parsons had been hit- ting the ball pretty well, and he came through with a big two-run single. 'Then, Malone hit the single to tie the score, and they made an error that gave us the win. It was an exciting game for all involved." The win put the Titans at 16 -5 on the year, including 7- 4 in Pocket Athletic Confer- ence (PAC) play, while the loss dropped Evansville North to 19 -5 on the season. Gibson Southern was scheduled to play Evansville Memorial at Bosse Field last night, and the Titans are slat- ed to tangle with Washington this evening at Gibson South- ern at 5 p.m. Thursday, the Titans will travel to Vincennes to tack- le Lincoln in an outing sched- uled for 5 p.m. Saturday, Gibson Southern is set to travel to Mt.
