MENU Tuesday, May 17: Chicken alfredo, roasted broccoli, carrot sticks, garlic toast, grapes and milk. Wednesday, May 18: Popcorn chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, hot roll, chilled pears and milk. Thursday, May 19: Chicken taco, refried beans, queso and salsa, romaine salad, ap- plesauce and milk. Friday, May 20: Manager's Choice. Monday. May 23: Manager's Choice. Tuesday, May 24: Manager's Choice. Our first grade stu- dent of the week is Ethyn Walker. Ethyn is such a kind and consid- erate friend! He is al- ways the first to help others in the classroom and give up his own things to be sure every- one else has what they need! He is a great stu- dent and always partic- ipates and volunteers in class. He is eager to learn and always does his best! Keep up the great work, Ethyn! Our middle school Student of the Week is 8th grader Devyn Brent. She was chosen by one of our middle school teachers, Mrs. Strange. Devyn always has such a positive at- titude and lends a help- ing hand. She is a great friend and student. She is going to do amazing things! Landrie Couts is the student of the week! Landrie is in Mrs. Gra- ham's 3rd grade class at Owensville. She has worked so hard and has thrived! I have seen such improvement with her work! Hard work pays off! She is also very helpful! She does a wonderful job at ask- ing questions, listen- ing, and following di- rections! Way to go, Landrie! Kristen Spindler, a senior at Gibson Southern High School, has been an intern at Owensville Community School for the 2021-2022 school year. She has worked with Mrs. Kuester in Kindergarten and Mrs. Spindler in computers. Kristen will be attending USI and plans to major in Elementary Education. Kristen has been a fantastic intern and will make a wonderful teacher! Good luck to Kristen! Davina Witte has been interning at Owensville Community School under Ms. Hart, who teaches 2nd grade. Davina attended Owensville Community School during elementary and middle school. Davina will be attending Northwest Mis- souri State University and will be majoring in Secondary Education. We wish Davina all the best! Ann Schapker will be retiring at the end of this school year. Ann has been the school psychologist at several of the school corporations in this area. She has helped many students get the services they need to be successful in academics. We are grateful for her years of service and wish her the very best in retirement! Mrs. Foster, school librarian at Owensville, will be retiring at the end of the school year. She first worked at Princeton High School and she has been at Owens- ville for the last eight years. Her passion for books and reading have been shared with hundreds of students at our school. We appreciate her time here and hope that her retirement brings many joys. She plans to spend her time traveling and volunteering at her church. Best Wishes! Students from Owensville Pre-K have some fun with each other before the school year comes to a close.
