South Gibson Star-Times Church Tuesday, May 17, 2022 A-11 old superlative-and also the absolute and the comparative, whose names we were obliged to learn to spell when some poor teacher was attempting to pound into our heads that adjectives possessed three degrees: the absolute, which describes something in its own right; the comparative, which—guess what—com- pares something with some- thing else; then there is the superlative, which, in the He- brew language, simply does not exist. Hebrew doesn't do "good," "better," "best," nor anything like it. So how do we convey that the collection of songs which we have just been considering is the best of all? We stress, that out of all the songs that there are, this is the song. REFLECTIONS Continued from page 10 This is why God's Word says: "We declare, I say, at this time, His righteousness for the remission of sins… that [God] might be just, and the Justifier of him that believeth in Jesus. "Where is boasting then? It is excluded" (Romans 3:25 - 27). MINUTES Continued from page 10 Little Miracles Pre-School igin there are those who have wrongly assumed that God and creation are one and the same. The beauty of earth, which we currently see, is on- ly a glimpse of God's unend- ing splendor and glory. Those who believe that seeing na- ture is the equivalent of see- ing God have a very limited and distorted view of His maj- esty and greatness. The creation of God is de- signed to fill us with devotion, obedience and a sense of won- derment rather than provide a complete conclusion to who He is based on the limited un- derstanding of man. "How- ever, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him…" (1 Corinthians 2:9) We must always be careful that we do not become so con- sumed with the creation and the things of this world that we miss the Creator who came and gave His life for us—the very means by which we are reconciled to Him. From eter- nity past to eternity future, God has loved and will always love mankind, for not only is the earth His but all that dwell therein. We were made by and for an eternal God who loves us and desires that we have the same newness of life that is be- ing revealed through spring time. The ability to have this newness of life is a gift of God the Father and can be experi- enced in the human heart by all who choose to believe in His Son, Jesus Christ. Choose today to follow Him and let this newness of life unfold in you. INSIGHT Continued from page 10 "If anyone defiles God's tem- ple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple." 1Co 3:17. Satan is a liar and a murder- er. Jesus said there is no truth in him. He knows the Messi- ah is to be born of woman.Yet, he does not believe the Messi- ah has come. Child sacrifice is Satan's attempt to prevent the messiah from coming, which seals Satan's' doom. To kill a baby in its mother's womb is tantamount to sacri- ficing an idol in the temple of God. It is akin to sacrificing a child to the Canaanite god, Molech. The Old Testament phrase for child sacrifice is "pass through the fire." You should look up what Molech looks like on Google. It is a de- testable and evil looking idol. People have sacrificed mil- lions of children over thou- sands of years to this idol. Willfully killing a baby in its mother's temple is an abomi- nation to God. I am distressed when I hear a Christian support abortion on demand. It shows their lack of spiritual and scriptural un- derstanding of God. Humans create laws believing they can overpower God's law. God told Adam, "for in the day that you eat of it [of the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil] you shall surely die." Gen 2:17. The consequence of his dis- obedience affects everyone. His disobedience brought sin and death into the world. Overturning Roe V Wade will not put an end to abor- tion. Many states will enact laws allowing abortion and other states will restrict it. Hu- man history shows laws will not prevent crime or sin. Abortion is a symptom of sin and the evil world we live in. Easter reminds us of this. Without Jesus, this world is lost. Without God, there is no hope. There is no power to re- sist or change if the Holy Spir- it doesn't write God's laws on our hearts. Ronald Reagan said, "I've noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born." Christ is Risen. Hallelujah! South Gibson Knights of Columbus donate to Right to Life Jason Rainey, Grand Knight of the Haubstadt Knights of Columbus, Council 2215, presented a check for $1,200 to Ann Minnis, President of Right to Life of Gibson County, at the K of C "Founders' Day Banquet" at Haub's Steak House on April 22. These funds were collected at four Gibson County Catholic Churches: Sts. Peter and Paul, St. James, Holy Cross and St. Bernard, during the K of C an- nual "One Rose-One Life" campaign. The Council, also, donated to the K of C ef- fort supplying ultrasound machines to pregnancy-aid clinics in Indiana. The funds donated to Right to Life will be used to publicize the Safe Haven Baby Box locat- ed at the Princeton Fire Station; as well as, other efforts to protect Mothers and their babies.
