The students participated in a School-Wide Read In during "Read Across Amer- ica Week." They got to wear pajamas and bring pillows and blankets as they read their books. Fourth graders Adalynn Martin, Kadyn Dupin, Tate Pauw and Axel Russell are comfortable in the bleachers as they read their books. OMA kindergarten round-up begins March 10 The Otwell Miller Academy will have kin- dergarten round-up on March 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and then from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the school, located just off Highway 257 in Ot- well, at 9958 E. CR 150 N., Otwell. To schedule an appoint- ment, call 812-354-0800. Those participating are asked to bring a parent ID, student's birth certif- icate, student's social se- curity card and valid im- munization record. Second Grade student Ryker Harbin passed his multiplication facts and is now moving on to division. Third grade student Phoebe Sim- mons passed her multiplication facts. She will move on to division and re- ceive an ice cream treat from her teacher. Mystery Reader for Kindergarten: Shannon Har- bin (River's Grandma). He first guessed his mom, then remembered the clue about the person being a grandma. He was excited to have her. She read a book with his favorite, dinosaurs. The students absolutely loved Ms. G from Holly's House. She did such an amaz- ing job teaching them about body safety this week. She is a natural in the class- room. We are so thankful for this program and their ability to teach about these tough subjects. CALENDAR March 7-18: I-READ 3, testing I-READ is an evalua- tion of reading skills for stu- dents in grade 3. March 9: Robotics prac- tice. March 9: Hat Day- Hats off to the PES Robotics teams on going to state! March 10 : Tie Dye/Bright Colors Day- The future is bright for PES Robotics! March 10 : Spring music program for grades K-2 start- ing at 6 p.m. March 10 and 11: Kinder- garten Round-up screening for Petersburg students that will be 5 years old on or be- fore August 1. Please call to schedule a time for your child's screening if you have not done so. Current Pre-K students still need to sign up! March 11: Report Cards sent home. March 11: Robotics Field Trip to Indianapolis. Check in, inspection, and skills at Lucas Oil Stadium. March 11: BE Shirt Day- PES Robotics kids will BE great representatives of our school! Good luck tomorrow at State! *All school dress code rules still apply. March 12: VEXIQ State Robotics Tournament at Lu- cas Oil Stadium- Good luck PES Robotics! March 13: Daylight Sav- ings Time Begins- set clocks forward one hour. March 16: Spring Pic- tures. March 18: Title 1 Pre- school Screening. There will be no Title 1 Preschool on this day. March 21-25: Spring Break. March 28: First day back to school after spring break. April 8: Spring Carnival. April 14: Easter Parties. April 18 -May 13: I-LEARN testing begins. April 12 and13: Science Fair. Projects can be deliv- ered to the gym on April 12 at 8 a.m. Mackley Poteet was all smiles on Friday. He cashed in his Chief Tick- ets to sit in the princi- pal's chair for the day.
