Because of all the toy/cash donations, we are helping more than 120 local children have a better Christmas! I'd like to thank everyone who contributed, and to say I am so proud to live in such a caring community. "It was pitch dark and you couldn't see anything." The wind was whistling through the multi-level garage. Craig said it was too dark to see much, except when it would lightning. "You could see metal and debris being blown around." While the tornado didn't hit campus, it did go about two miles from where he was and hit Bowling Green. "I didn't realize how bad it was until I started getting texts and calls from people checking on me." He said most students had already returned home and were sending him pics of dam- age around the area. "Our Ta- co Bell, KFC and our favorite Mexican place were all lev- eled." A fter about an hour of hid- ing out in the parking garage, Craig said he felt a little let up in the storm and decided to make a break for his dorm room. "I did an all-out sprint. The wind caused me to fall a couple of times, but I made it without getting hurt." He stayed there until morning. "The hardest thing was trying to pack in the dark. Luckily, my laptop was charged and I was able to use it and my phone to see things." "I guess I took the warning a little too lightly. In all the tor- nado warnings, I have seen no tornado ever touchdown." "When I started seeing re- ports about it on CNN and Fox News and the Washington Post, I realized this was not a normal storm," said Craig. He said normally after you take your last final, you are anxious and checking online to see your test results and grades posted. "Not this time. I was just worried about stay- ing safe."
