B-6 Wednesday, December 15, 2021 The Press-Dispatch Coach Hunter Elliott said, "We came out and had a very solid first quarter and first half, having a 10 -point lead at halftime. We did a really poor job of executing and finishing in the third quarter, in which we only scored two points. This is another game that we let slip and we were the bet- ter basketball team. We have to do a better job of switching sides of the floor with the ball and getting to the rim and free throw line. Defensively, we did a fine job all evening, it was just not finishing on offense. We have some players who we are counting on that need to step up, and start scoring and rebounding. These are all fix- able things, but we have to be dedicated to doing them all the time." JUNIOR VARSITY The Charger junior varsity also played Southridge on Sat- urday, losing out on the win by a score of 33-29. In the first half of the game, the Chargers battled hard, but ended up being at a 10 -point deficit to Southridge at the beginning of halftime. During the second half of the game, the Charger JV pulled together and made some se- rious points, closing the gap on Southridge's lead by six points. Unfortunately, they were still four points shy of a tie and five from a victory by the end of the game. If any- thing, the second half of the game shows that the Chargers have the drive and determi- nation to get the win, but just came up short in the first half.
