C-2 Wednesday, April 21, 2021 The Press-Dispatch Methodist Catholic Baptist Lutheran Church of Christ Catholic Independent Independent Christian Church of God Christ. Nevertheless, our faith will be strengthened when we truly believe that God listens to us when we cry out to Him and that He will deliver us from our troubles. "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he de- livers them from all of their trouble. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spir- it. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all" (Psalm 34:17-19). Dwight Howe, Pastor Karri Brock, Reporter BETHEL G.B. CHURCH 4933 E. Co. Rd. 900 S. Stendal Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; morning worship at 10 :30 a.m.; First and third Wednes- day of each month, Bible study at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, Bible study. Studying Psalm 128 - 134. Bible Trivia Last week's answer to: Jo- nah was called to preach in what city? Answer: Nineveh. Reference: Jonah 3:2. Q: To get bread, the Ju- deans had to submit to what nations? Answer to come next week. Steve Selby, Pastor Elaine Barrett, Reporter CROSSROADS BAPTIST CHURCH 2789 S. State Rd 57 Oakland City Service times: Sunday school 9:30 a.m. CDT; wor- ship service 10 :30 a.m. This Wednesday, in our on- going series, Twelve Extraor- dinary Women, we will con- clude our study on the life of Mary. The study of Mary has been very interesting. We have discussed that many peo- ple exalt Mary. However, she is not to be exalted. The only person worthy to be exalted is Jesus. We truly hope you get a chance to join us in our dis- cussion in the finale of Mary; next week we start a new ex- traordinary woman, Anna. Re- member the study starts at 6 p.m. CDT, but is preceded by a meal that starts at 5:30 p.m.; of course, the children's activ- ities also start at 6 p.m. Sunday morning worship service will continue the se- ries into Jonah; we call it "A Journey with Jonah." For the next several weeks, we will be walking with Jonah. Wherever Jonah goes, so will we. Some may think of it as odd that we would accompany a man that runs from God. Howev- er, when we truly think about it, we have done the same. In fact, there are times that we have not only run from God, but also questioned God, dis- obeyed God, and have been angry with God. So, perhaps we are more like Jonah than we imagined. The series with Jonah promises to be insight- ful. We hope that you will be able to join us. Hope to see you there. If you are looking for a place to worship, and a church family, come to Crossroads. Curt Beadle, Pastor MT. PISGAH G.B. CHURCH 6100 S. Augusta Broadway Street Winslow Pastor 812-582-0756 Sunday morning worship at 10 :15 a.m.; children's Sun- day school during the morn- ing worship; youth Cross Fit Sunday at 6:30 p.m.; Consume on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. We had a very good ser- vice this past Sunday. I will raise them up a Proph- et from among their brethren, like unto thee. Moses stood between the LORD and you at that time, to shew you the word of the LORD: for ye were afraid. There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Je- sus. Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth. Take my yoke up- on you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Je- sus: who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken af- ter; but Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the con- fidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. If at any time you have no church to attend, feel free to join us for services. Your pres- ence will be deeply appreciat- ed and you will leave being blessed. May God bless each and ev- eryone. What I have found keeps a lot (not all) at bay. Yet we all sin still, because of the fall of Adam. We are not sinners be- cause we sin, we sin because we are sinners. But all has been forgiven by the work of the cross by our redeemer Jesus Christ. The most dangerous thing anyone can do, is to hear the gospel and to know what Jesus did for them and refuse to believe it. Before I became a believ- er (born again) in Christ, I had many sinful things eat- ing at me. They just wouldn't leave me alone. Now that my faith and hope is in Jesus, these things that burdened me have been easier to cope with. God knows our hearts and He knows our sin. This is why He leaves His loving kind- ness and grace open for us to accept. All we need to do is to lay our sins at the cross and accept Jesus in our life. It's just that simple. Because ev- erything else was paid in full by our redeemer Jesus. That is why the last thing He said while on that cross was, "It is Finished"—Amen.
